Re: Fantasy Hockey Forum
In all honesty, that's going to be a whale of a contest. Kesler has trouble scoring against top teams (his 41 goal season, IIRC, saw 34 scored against non-playoff foes or something like that) but this is going to be a no-holds-barred, mud rasslin', eye gouging extravaganza...go with Kesler, chance for 1+1, better chance for 17 PIMs...

In a 12-team one year league if Pavelec is your G3 and you only start two, I'd probably make that trade. In a keeper (of really any sort) or a 10 (or less) team one-year league, I probably would not.

It's a one year league. I have Rask and Lindback both who have more points.Kraftster wrote:In a 12-team one year league if Pavelec is your G3 and you only start two, I'd probably make that trade. In a keeper (of really any sort) or a 10 (or less) team one-year league, I probably would not.

One year league? I always think in terms of keeper. Yeah this is a Malkin off-year, get something for him.

Yea it's a money league too. My thought is that we're a quarter of a way through and Malkin hasn't scored. Benn is at a point per game, Ovechkin can still score, and Weber is alive finally.Idoit40fans wrote:One year league? I always think in terms of keeper. Re: Fantasy Hockey Forum
What's the prevailing opinion on Corey Perry? I am looking to make a serious run this season, and I have been offered Ryan Callahan + Dan Boyle + Jonas Hiller for Corey Perry + Evgeny Kuznetsov.
The league is a keep 17, so I could make room for everyone. For example, Cally would replace Perry, Boyle would bump Little/Zidlicky and Hiller would bump Neuvirth. The league counts hits, so Cally as a hitter is more valuable than Perry as a PIMer. Cally was a significantly better player than Perry last year in the league and not all that far off in 2010-2011 even. The gap between Perry and Cally in 10-11 was smaller than the gap between Cally and Perry last year.

It's funny...i was trying very hard last week to trade Malkin away, but no one was giving me quite enough for him, so I decided to hold... now who knows how long until he's back.

Hm... I'd probably sit Heatley if push came to shove. SJ is floundering and Phoenix is back to playing stingy defense.

Minny has won two of their last 3, though Heatley was shutout in each of the last 2 games. I wouldn't ever sit him though.

I'd say Conacher, only if because he's been cold (any points last night notwithstanding).
Though Ryder had also been hit or miss.

I've been losing goalie stats consistently this year. I have Cam Ward and Ryan Miller. I recently picked up Markstrom. I was targeting Carey Price in a trade. The other owner will only do this deal:
I give up Ryan Miller and Daniel Sedin. He gives me Carey Price and Nugent-Hopkins.
What do you think? Worth it or not? That's a hefty price tag.

Re: Fantasy Hockey Forum
The thing with Ryder specifically is it's tough to get him the puck because they don't have many d-men who can pass...or many players in general that can. Ryder just grips it and rips it. Goligoski has been marginalized this year, Larsen is out tonight...so moving the puck from the backline will be tough...Matt Fraser is going to be up on the second line tonight...so Ryder will be with Cody Eakin and Reilly Smith, two players that are better goal scorers than passers certainly...and the Stars will need to play conservative as they have to go all the way to Columbus for tomorrow's game...so playing against the Oilers speed, you're gonna wanna to muck it up in the NZ as much as you can...I doubt the Stars get into a run n' gun grudge match with one of their bigger rivals on the first of back to back games without a very competent blueline right now...
That said, 8-6 Oilers tonight probably, Ryder with 4 goals and an assist...

it was thursdays games i was looking at when i was filling out my lineup for the week where i had to bench someone. tonight against nash, ryder got me three As. not bad for a waiver wire pickup with geno now on IR. ryder seems to be on a small hot streak right now and is def worth a look in semi-deep leagues.mikey287 wrote:Ha! Re: Fantasy Hockey Forum
Start Bachman against the Blue Jackets or leave the spot empty? As of now I have him starting because I believe that if you have an eligible player and an open spot, you start him, but I supposed that I don't have to. Its not even confirmed that he'll start, but if he is starting, what do we think?

Re: Fantasy Hockey Forum
Why not...Bachman isn't that good, but he's going against a team that is in dead last, what's the worst that could happen?
