Not that hard to let him go when Max Talbot scored more goals in the finals than Hossa did.

Can't the original poster just change the name once he gets signed elsewhere? Keep the dream alive?

It's believed the deal-breaker was the average salary which fell between $3.75 million and $4 million.

That's got to be pretty insulting to Hossa. I don't know if that was the intent from Detroit, probably not, but it's deserved. You sit in the passenger seat when your team is trying to win the Cup? Don't expect them to bend over backwards to fit you in. I can't wait to see where he signs tomorrow. I feel bad for whatever team chooses to sign this loser. Unless it's a team like the Rangers or Canadians. They deserve it.

The Rangers don't know how to be conservative, so I wouldn't be surprised to see that Gomez money go to Hossa. And probably a few million more just for the sake of stupidity. But that cap space has been there for almost 12 hours and Lowe hasn't spent it yet, so he's at least showing some restraint.

This is the salary cap world. They can't afford him unless they make some significant moves.

The people that hate the cap because the Pens can't sign everyone should be happy the cap exists, because pre cap, the Wings would not only have all of their main pieces, but would have kept Hossa long term, and probably would have added a few more top UFAs.

I would assume the Rug would go, too. It would be an act of kindness, really, because Racchi's Rug is just a tag-along to HOssa to DET's rocket ride to stardom.

Admin should make any posters who reaches 100,000 posts be known as "Racchi's Rug" instead of "NHL Hall of Famer" and when you hit 500,000, the description is "Hossa to DET".

I'd post constantly to get "Hossa to DET"

Haha, I cannot wait until Hossa signs this year to see what happens.

Rename this thread or start a new one? Will the new one get to the current 92 pages of this one?

Someone start a twitter account for Hossa that details everywhere he goes by saying "Hossa to bathroom," "Hossa to dinner," "Hossa to bed"

Yeah, I saw a thread on their board that started the hate already if he went to Chicago. The people that were wishing him luck have basically said all bets are off if he becomes a Hawk.

They already hate him, not sure if they could hate him any more unless he scores an OT series clinching goal to knock the Wings out next year.

So the salary cap doesn't apply to Chicago or do they plan to dump Toews and Kane next year?

I think they could be in the situation the Pens could have been in if they signed him last year. Just have a top 3 heavy hit on the cap, have one or two higher salaries, and a bunch of crap.

The Pens offerred, knowing Malkin and Crosby would be making $8.7MM apiece. And I don't think Toews and Kane will make that amount.

So I see it as something they can do. Their depth won't be great, but it is possible.

But they also have Campbell and Huet at insane deals.

Malkin, Crosby, Hossa, Fleury, Garbage >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Toews, Kane, Hossa, Huet, Campbell, Garbage

It would be a disaster.
