look at Lecavalier's contract, http://www.nhlnumbers.com/overview.php? ... 9&expand=y" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

last 4 years of his new contract = 8.0, 4.0, 1.5, 1.0

My understanding is that you can only drop 50%, which above it looks like he is doing (except from 4.0 to 1.5).

I don't think you can drop from $7.0 to $1.0. It have to be a more gradual drop like $7.0, $3.5, $1.75, $1.0.

Again, I could be wrong. If there is someone out there like Draftnik that follows this a lot more closely, you input would be much appreciated!

I just read on the mlive blog that Holland still hasn't heard anything from Hossa's camp. And now the Wings fans are getting nervous that Hossa will not answer, they'll lose Huddler, and Samuelson, and then Hossa will sign elsewhere while Holland awaits his response and loses some free agents.

This is starting to sound very familiar.

I kind of hope so too, in just that, I like to look at other teams boards to catch up on their movements, and a lot of their fans were bashing Pens fans saying we were classless in the way we treated him, blah, blah, blah. But now that it is shaping up the same way, (it may not end the same way), but in that they have 2 or 3 players that they want to sign, but they are waiting on Hossa, some of their fans are starting to turn. I even saw some say they now know how Pens fans felt.

I know in the end it's stupid, and ultimately, I really don't care what they say. It just would be nice to let someone else feel what many Pens fans felt last year. :D

Yeah, I've noticed that too...they're pretty high on themselves for not being "like penguin fans" -- um, it's not like Hossa had a great postseason. Detroit didn't have to give up anything to acquire him, and won a cup without him, so it's not like they deserve a medal. If their situation was anything like ours was and he bailed at the last minute to go to Pittsburgh, you bet a lot of them would probably be angry.

At the very least, if Hossa strings them along and makes them wait and worry about other players, then maybe they would understand in some respects why Penguin fans were pissed off.

But yeah, not that it matters too much. :P

I can't believe I am going to post this link, but look down and Eklund says a deal with Hossa in Detroit should be announced tonight even though everyone else in the world has said otherwise.

The guy is a genius. This is probably posted everywhere and with me and everyone else clicking it, it is bringing him more money!

Why does Washington keep coming up with Hossa? I would think they'd be after a center and better defensemen.
