Flyers' prospect kills referee

Sorry if posted before. Can't find an English link, unfortunately. Scurko pleaded guilty to killing referee Marek Liptaj with a knife in January 2008. Motive is as of yet unknown. Note that this is not supposed to be an anti-Flyers post.

A few more details:

Ladislav Scurko (2004 6th round pick of Philadelphia, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ladislav_Scurko" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) confessed today to a 1+ year-old murder of 26-year old hockey referee. The victim was stabbed 14 times, and the media speculate the referee owed Scurko a lot of money (so it had nothing to do with hockey).

Incredibly, following the murder (which happened in January 2008) Scurko spent this season playing for Slovak Extraleague champion HC Kosice (they beat Palffy's HC Skalica in the finals), scoring 13 points (7+6) in 70 games (http://www.szlh.sk/statistiky/c-090000_ ... %216112423" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) and the teammates describe him as a great and a funny guy in the locker room throughout this season...

By the way, these are apparently pictures from this TUESDAY, when Scurko successfully passed final high-school comprehensive exam (which is something all high school students have to do to get the diploma). All smiles...
