Hossa willing to take less so Wings can keep him and Franzen both.

He definitely close with AO, Malkin, and Crosby. So is Zetterberg. What they lack in explosive offense they have in backchecking defense. Two very complete players on the same team.penny lane wrote:http://www2.canada.com/windsorstar/news ... f7c67f&p=1

I'd love to see what either Datsyuk or Zetts do by themselves. No doubt they are huge 2 way stars, but they haven't been given an opportunity to be their entire team for long periods of time like Crosby, Ovie, Malkin have.

Same with Gretzky back in edmonton's glory days. It's probably something we'll never see as far as just what either could do as a centerpiece on a not-so-great team during their primes. About all we can do is guess.Idoit40fans wrote:I'd love to see what either Datsyuk or Zetts do by themselves. I'd have to think if that opportunity presented itself, Datsyuk would leave Zetterberg in the dust.brwi wrote:Same with Gretzky back in edmonton's glory days. Re: Hossa to DET
Two years ago the Wings had 11 regulars out with injuries during the month of December. Datsyuk's ice time increased dramatically and he led the league in scoring for the month.
Until recently, the two haven't played together this year. They had been cenetering their own lines. Datsyuk's numbers were still incredible. Zetterberg's dropped. Once reunited, Datsyuk's numbers remain constant and Zetterberg's have risen substantially.
I think on a team not as talented, Datsyuk's numbers would increase as his ice time increases. He leads the league in points per minute right now and I can't imagine why that would change.

Re: Hossa to DET
Hossa got into a fight tonight. He threw down against Ryan Suter, defenseman of the Nashville Predators.

Re: Hossa to DET
Because Datysuk got Hossa and the 1st line. Zetterberg Franzén (who's also missed games) and the 2nd line.therock48880 wrote:Two years ago the Wings had 11 regulars out with injuries during the month of December. They're both awesome. I think I consider Datsyuk slightly better too but I'd definetely not say he'd "leave Zetterberg in the dust".
About them always having had eachother and wouldn't take too much away from them because of that. Some players individual numbers actually benefit from being on lesser teams as everything goes through them. These guys have shared that position with others and had huge defensive responsobillites.

linkageDETROIT — Marian Hossa wasn't on the ice when the Detroit Red Wings finished their game against the San Jose Sharks because of concussion-like symptoms.
For precautionary reasons, he was limited to 10-plus minutes over the first two periods of Wednesday night's 4-1 win over San Jose.
