That's not from the movie, it's footage from Christian Bale's weekend with his mother and sister.canaan wrote:http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0144084/JS© wrote:OK, somebody explain that pic to me.

bump
heading to vegas this weekend and wouldn't want this thread to drop away while I'm gone.
I wonder if the bookies would take a bet on the pens to win it all next year? or what the odds would be? nothing is really set yet, so I doubt the odds are anywhere close to set. but that could mean I could get some sweet odds.
anyway, be good, folks. and F~@& HOSSA!
I hope detroit gets knocked out in the first round again by the number 8 seed.

Only if in the end someone photoshops the pic of Hossa sitting on the ice at the end of Game 6, into the maze that Jack freezes to death at the end of the movie.penny lane wrote:"All work and no play makes hossa a dull boy.".

""Pittsburgh has a great team, great people, great organization. I had to compare the two teams, and there's a little better chance to win the Cup in Detroit. I had a great time with Sid and playing on the power play with Geno [Evgeni Malkin], but the team in Detroit is something special. I know it's a short term, but we never talked about a one-year [deal] with Pittsburgh. We just talked about a long-term deal. I totally believe Detroit has the kind of team that can win it again.""
Funny. I said we could re-sign him without any worries whatsoever had it been for one year only but no one thought he'd want that. Not saying "I told you so" because I admited myself a one year deal didn't feel very likely. Funny though how that is what he wanted, but the Pens didn't want that?
Still, he can't make it sound like they never even mentioned it and if they had he would've signed because I'm sure he told them, and what he means with this is that weren't interested in that. Ehm, or not, as that doesn't make sense either, why wouldn't Shero want him on a one year deal?
So he's just trying to phrase politely how he said "screw you I'll choose Detroit", I guess.

no, he simply thought detroit had the better chance to win next year. If Pittsburgh offered him a one year deal and so did detroit, that quote tells me he still would have went to detroit.André wrote:""Pittsburgh has a great team, great people, great organization. The angle no one's looked at yet: Hossa, the double agent?Pitts wrote:WAIT!!! ... Hossa signed with Detroit???? What did I miss here?
Its a conspiracy theory. Hossa is really the hero of the penguins and no one will ever know. He's going to detroit to destroy them. Evgeni Malkin suggested this. He knows the devestating effect this could have first hand from when John Leclaire tried to sabotage his rookie year.
Marian Hossa... future locker room cancer of the detroit redwings... A selfless marter.
Sidney Crosby is to Harry Potter as Marian Hossa is to Serverus Snape.
As Michelle Therrien is to Hermione.

I saw an interview with Shero. While he confirmed that the Pens did not make a 1 year offer, that they were willing to committ long term $s to Hossa & have it be part of the "core," he went on to say that a 1 year deal would have "obviously be of great benefit to the Pens" based on their current contractual committments or something like that.
And I just saw this, which leads me to beleive it was all Hossa, not even the Wings thought he would come there for a 1 year deal. And even their GM hinted about concern over there being enough pucks to go around.
Marian Hossa-W- Red Wings Jul. 28 - 10:51 am et
Wings GM Ken Holland said he was dazed after he found out that Marian Hossa wanted to sign with Detroit.
"Marian obviously made a decision that he wanted to be a Red Wing. Once we get him here, hopefully we can find a way to keep everybody here and keep everybody happy and we’re hoping that we’re going to have good chemistry," Holland said. Hossa signed a one-year deal worth $7.5 million in order to have a chance at the Cup - and the current Stanley Cup champs are the early favorite to repeat next season.
