Pens sign Blake Lizotte

Post by KG »

I actually like this one. Lizotte is small but he's a solid energy bottom 6 center. Had 34 points year before last. And he's only 26 lol.

Would think Eller is gone?

Multi-year deal apparently.

Looking at his face-off numbers he isn't a Center

2 years $1.8 AAV for Lizotte.

Have to think he's our 4C.

Smallish left handed C, meeeh.. we need RH centers

If we swap Eller and Acciari down the middle with Hayes and Lizotte, I dont like it.. sure, younger, but better? Hard to see it..

Lizotte makes more than Puustinen and Poulin combined. We are now going to be right up against the cap with a full roster again unless someone making more than $2 million is moved.

Look at the bright side... at least Dubas restocked the roster with enough bottom six spare parts to insure Sullivan never has to play any of the WBS prospects for yet another year. :face:

That's 4 guys today that are 5-10 or shorter, and none scare 195 pounds.

Does Kyle Doofus know that we don't have to field a team that is the actual size of real penguins?

Size seemed to really matter in the early rounds of the playoffs when everyone was killing each other. That kind of dies down in the final but had Florida not gone up 3-0 in a dominant way then try coast to win #4 we probably would had seen more brutal hockey.

For note, Brad Marchand is about the size of the these guys and he often looks tiny out there but the guy is a total ******* on the ice to make up for it and it’s effective. These guys aren’t built like that though at least I don’t think.

But if the goal is to just try to get to the playoffs I’ll take the fast guys who help prevent scoring chances by getting stick on puck which suits Sullivan better.

Have you watched Blake Lizotte play? If you have and still think he's "just a little dude," then you haven't really watched Lizotte drive other teams crazy and pull his team into the fight.
