Times like this really highlight why people who put malkin in the same universe as Crosby are just so wrong. Malkin has been a great top tier talent but he's not and will never be a Crosby level talent.

Well, 4 on 3 power plays tend to yield more scoring chances. But they went 0-5 tonight. We literally have one of the worst power plays in the entire league. We’re not a couple of weeks into the season, it’s Christmas time. How has no one lost their job over this?

Sidney Crosby gave a memorable performance in this Win.Everything his career has been about was out there on display tonight.
Ned with a solid strong game.His composure was big late.He needs to stay as the guy going forward.
PP once again reared its ugly head and just about cost them this game.
Malkin is in a fog that isn't lifting.Awful effort,poor decisions,not a threat to do a thing offensively right now.Whatever is going on there is a serious problem.
Letang and Karlsson were not good and with what they expect from them that cannot happen night in night out.

Considering the opponent they beat tonight it was a good win.The Canes are a difficult opponent and the Pens found a way to get this.The effort from bottom 6 guys-Acciari,DOC,and Harkins was strong.Sid gave it all out there.In spite of complete no shows from Malkin and Smith and Rakell continuing his disaster of a season they found a way.Ned is a different guy late in games than Jarry and it showed up.
