Would have had DOC and Puustinen shoot before Karlsson.

Wow. Pens outshoot 20-4 from the start of the 3rd through end of OT. Ned definitely MVP tonight.

Thought they were going to roll Jarry out to go next in the shootout !
Great job by the PK. Still didn't play a full game, but you take the 2 points clearly.

Sid just said he had no idea he just passed Recchi on the all time scoring list lol. Funny how he doesn't know where he stands historically on the charts.

To get this win after being down 3-1 was pretty unlikely, didn't expect it.
Ned was outstanding,3rd Period, OT and Shootout was some impressive work by him.
PP got 2 Goals by shooting at the net with guys in front.Hint?
Malkin was once again a non entity and took a terrible OT Penalty. His game is a huge problem for this team.
Sid and Jake were the reason they got this turned around in the 2nd.Puustinen was real good and Zohorna had a strong night.
Considering they got this with a pathetic 1st Period, hanging on in spite of a tough 3rd Period and OT and winning a 12 Round Shootout was an unexpected but pleasant result. The Dads got a memorable experience tonight.

Re: Official GDT: Pens @ Habs 12/13/23
The power play has been the difference in making these past two games wins instead of losses. Everything else about the team has been the same: defensive miscues and poor coverage, struggling Malkin and second line, mishmash of spare parts on lines 3 and 4 (okay, credit due where credit is due for Carter's game against the Coyotes), with solid goal tending and 5 on 5 offense from Crosby and Guentzel. If the power play didn't convert twice against the Coyotes...Pens lose. If the power play didn't convert twice last night...Pens lose.
How many games have the Pens lost this year due to the 0-30something streak on the power play?

I was thinking last night while watching, the Pens insist on this fire-wagon, no plan, run all over the place as fast as they can game. Doesn't matter if they are in the D zone or O zone - it go all out all the time. Montreal was cool and composed all evening with the puck. When they gained control, they almost all stopped and reset and then moved up ice. The Pens NEVER stop moving and are usually trying to move as fast as they can. It leads to so many turnovers, giveaways and broken plays.Take the Body Shoot the Puck wrote: ↑Thu Dec 14, 2023 9:26 am The power play has been the difference in making these past two games wins instead of losses. That’s why I think the issue is Sullivan. That scheme worked years ago, but not with an aging group. The Penguins need a more in control system and if that’s the system Sullivan wants and the players aren’t buying into it, then he’s lost the team. To me, there is no reason to keep him.Pitts wrote: ↑Thu Dec 14, 2023 12:06 pmI was thinking last night while watching, the Pens insist on this fire-wagon, no plan, run all over the place as fast as they can game.
