Official GDT: Pens @ Lightning 12/6/23

Post by DelPen »

Smith and Rust swapping should help Smith and Malkin but it shouldn’t need to happen.

If the PP sets up the same as last game I don’t know how someone isn’t fired over it.

Not a fan of moving Smith up to RW on Sid's Line but guess its desperation time for Sullivan.
Rust has been good night in night out, maybe he gets Malkin going better.

That’s I guess a trip, more unlucky timing than intent which I thought mattered now.

Well, they scored before I could type this, but, here's something to keep an eye on PP wise...

Watch Tampa on the PP, with the simplest thing of passing from one player to another. Look and see how many times players are reaching for pucks, pulling passing out of their skates, passes missing, etc.

Then watch the Penguins PP do the same. Willing to be you are going to see one look vastly different than the other.

Nice deflection of a shot towards net on a PP. Didn’t know that’s allowed.

Not the start they needed.Bad call leads to this but Jarry didn't react well to that deflection.

You must set up the picture perfect play to score on the PP. Who wants crappy deflections?

Kucherov makes that entire unit work,he gets the puck to the right place nearly every time.

Should had scored twice there and then they tripped one of our guys on the back check the same way Shea did and no call. Great night so far.

Normally I'd be mad they didn't call the trip on Geno. But it's probably a good thing they didn't. How sad is that?

I think I saw Reilly Smith's picture on a milk carton yesterday. After a great start to the season, he has been invisible.

We would be better off with nothing called on either team no matter hat happens.

Inexcusable of Harkins not to get to the net for what was a good centering pass by Carter.

"Maybe one too many passes there for the Pens". That's their motto "One too many passes"
