That would imply he’s never watched an NFL game on TV in his entire life. The only excuse is he is doing exactly what Canada wants, that would have been tolerable last year but not now. I expect him not to make **** stupid plays regardless of how bad his OC is.Daniel wrote:Yes he has, but consider this. Everything Kenny knows about an NFL offense has come from Matt Canada.DelPen wrote:He has made too many brain dead mistakes to get any kind of pass from me.Daniel wrote:This might be the worst offense I've ever seen. The scheme is just awful and I can't believe the TE isn't more involved. Kenny hasn't been good but it's hard to tell why since everything about this offense sucks.

two TO’s and 40 seconds and we run one play and let the clock run out to give them the ball back. I remember when we would throw down field to try to get into FG range.

I remember when we had an offensive scheme that was able to do that.DelPen wrote:two TO’s and 40 seconds and we run one play and let the clock run out to give them the ball back. I remember when we would throw down field to try to get into FG range.

I really have no idea what roughing the QB is anymore. Kenny took 2 bad shots tonight that should had been flags.

We are playing in Mexico next year, aren't we? Najee at a draft party last year, hosting a watch party tonight. Wouldn’t be surprised if the bonus home game is there. It’s against the NFC South so it could be any one of those garbage teams no matter where we finish.

Amazing what you can do when you calm down and realize you have some extra time because you aren't facing the two best defenses in the NFL this week.

Imagine that, run Harris up the middle, play action to the middle of the field creates a nice drive. This actually looks like an NFL offense which makes the Matt Canada criticism even more justified. If this is the play book where has it been?

If only the plays that haven't worked for three seasons now were torn up and thrown away then maybe he wouldn’t be garbage but we all know the opening 20 plays will be run again where we look like total **** every single game.Daniel wrote:Imagine that, run Harris up the middle, play action to the middle of the field creates a nice drive. It’s like the offense starts to work after the scripted crap plays get finished. I’ve always hated the concept of scripted plays (okay if it’s flexible) but Canada takes it to whole new level of inept.DelPen wrote:If only the plays that haven't worked for three seasons now were torn up and thrown away then maybe he wouldn’t be garbage but we all know the opening 20 plays will be run again where we look like total **** every single game.Daniel wrote:Imagine that, run Harris up the middle, play action to the middle of the field creates a nice drive. Keeanu Benton might just legit. What a move and pretty fast for a big guy.

I am still trying to get my head around that San Fran and Cleveland might be the two best defenses we will face all year.

Re: Official Pittsburgh Steelers Thread
Yes they probably will be but I think the Steelers made them look even better than they are with an inept game plan, at least Cleveland. Good example, doing a sweep with a 240lb running back against a fast team like the Browns. Doing a jet sweep when the offense is starting to get some kind of rhythm.DelPen wrote:I am still trying to get my head around that San Fran and Cleveland might be the two best defenses we will face all year.
They were giving away plays and doing 5-6 plays over and over again. Tonight’s game plan has been really good after the “script”. We’re seeing passes across the middle, smashmouth running up the middle. While the Browns and 49ers likely stop that at first, the offense would have eventually wore them down. There is a lot of talent on the offense and can do much better even against quality defenses.

To answer your earlier question, yes roughing the passer is still a penalty. Like the rule has always been, when the Steelers do it they call it, when it happens to a Steeler QB they don’t.DelPen wrote:That’s **** bull ****

I thought if the punter got hit it’s a penalty. Harvin looked like he got hit after the ball was punted.

Harvin picked a bad time to have a bad punt. Dude is a tank, take the hit for roughing the punter.

FG is a smart bet that Canada, Pickett and Harvin can’t NOT **** up.
