Not being familiar with every NHL player, why is Deangelo going from team to team despite having good numbers?
Well, let's see...

--Reported made racial slurs in Juniors, including one at a teammate.

--Lasted one half season in Arizona, after he was suspended 3 games for abuse of an official. Then traded to Rangers at season's end.

--In NY he was making some very vocal political statements on Twitter that rubbed people the wrong way. His tenure in NY ended after a "miscommunication" on the ice led to Pittsburgh winning in OT 5-4. It also led to a fist fight in the locker room following the loss, where DeAngelo (who was on the ice for the goal) mouthed something at Alexander Georgiev in the locker room, and rumors are Georgiev cold-cocked DeAngelo. DeAngelo was waived the next day.

--I don't know if he had any specific incidents in Carolina, but he also never came close to the one great season he had in NY.
Thanks. The racial slurs were enough for me.

Carolina probably still acquires him, he just won't cost them 2.5M and a non-prospect to get him.

Sounded like there also may have been a match penalty in there for intent to injure....a police officer's entire bloodline.

The St. Louis Blues have signed Jeremie Biakabutuka as an undrafted rookie.

He also instantly enters the hockey name hall of fame.

Nephew of Tim.

There were rumors out there that Pesce would be the piece the Canes move for EK. I just have a hard time seeing Carolina go with Burns, Karlsson and D'Angelo. That's a lot of offensive D men for a defense first team.

He'll be on the bottom pair in Carolina. Their top-4 is still overstocked with Slavin, Burns, Skjei, Pesce, Orlov so likely Pesce or Skjei gets moved, which was going to happen as soon as they signed Orlov to a 7.75M deal.

I think Canes only interest in Karlsson was if they could acquire him for very little and now they are likely moving on looking for forward help, moving a surplus 3/4 dman, and extending Aho.

Bergeron officially steps away from the NHL. He was a hell of a hockey player and had a stellar career.

Congratulations to Bergy on a fantastic career. I hated to see the Pens struggle against him and I loved to see the man play.

“Bergy,

It’s been a pleasure to compete against you and a special honor to be your teammate over the years. Your achievements speak for themselves, but the person you are is what stands out the most. For anyone who has played with or against you, there isn’t a better example to follow. Congratulations on a remarkable career and enjoy the next chapter mon ami!

Jake is more than 4 years older and he’s not the Pens top center. If he gets more than $8M on a deal longer than 5 years then Dubas is a fool. BTW I advocate trading Jake by the deadline if we’re not in playoff position

Leafs to put Matt Murrray on LTIR for the upcoming season. Man I really feel for him - it really makes the 2016 and 2017 runs feel like decades ago.
