And that’s on Eichel. Tkachuk is literally standing there and Eichel trips on his own to fall badly into him.

They had to hate the 10 day break right when they were unbeatable and every break and bounce was going their way and Bob was playing out of his mind.

Florida is playing too ragged and crossing the lines, taking stupid penalties...HOWEVER, just like some of the earlier series, the refs are sure jobbing them at some points.

Check out this video, which is apparently what earned Tkachuk his 2nd misconduct:

https://twitter.com/Sportsnet/status/16 ... 7007897601

It wasn't the rat shooting. Knocking the stick out of the hands of a player during a stoppage/scrum gets a 10? That's BS.

That’s a ref trying to keep control. Tkachuk was not playing hockey all game. Ref was looking for anything to toss him and that was enough.

That whole family goes full toddler when they aren’t getting their way.

Elliotte Friedman
@FriedgeHNIC
On a plane, so not sure if exact details…but a three-way deal with Columbus, Philadelphia and LA is being worked on….

Sounds like Provorov is going to CBJ and Petersen going to Philly....

Wheels are in motion!

Provorov to CBJ
Walker, Petersen to Philly
Kings will retain 30% of Provorov deal
Reportedly some more pieces involved, possibly just minor leaguers.

LA will now have room to re-sign Gavrikov, which is their intent.

Doesn't seem like the deal makes sense for Philly? Peterson (dump), Walker for Provorov? Would think Philly will get a couple of other solid pieces.

Hearing Philly also got a 1st and a 2nd in the deal, but still nothing final.

Another Philly source now says a deal for Carter Hart is also in the works. Word is this deal isn't as close as the Provorov deal just completing, so may not hear something today on a Hart trade.

Unsubstantiated sources claim Jones has signed Scott Hartnell to be the next Gritty. No mask/headgear will be required.

Sounding like Philly got Sean Walker, Cal Petersen, LAs 1st round pick (from CBJ, who got the pick for Gavrikov), LAs 2nd round pick, and LAs prospect d-man Helge Grans (2nd round pick in 2020, playing in AHL).

CBJ ends up with Provorov.

LA ends up with cap space to sign Gavrikov, who is rumored to be looking at a 2 year deal in the 6-7M range.

Not official yet, but that appears to be deal (with some salary retention in there, too).

Philly sends Provorov and forward Hayden Hodgson to the Kings in exchange for goalie Cal Peterson, defenceman Sean Walker, defenceman Helge Grans and the Kings' 2024 second-round pick. The Blue Jackets acquired defenceman Kevin Connauton from Philadelphia in exchange for a 2023 first-round pick (22nd overall) and conditional second-round pick in either the 2024 or 2025 NHL Draft. The Kings then flipped Provorov to the Blue Jackets in exchange for Connauton. Kings retained 30% of Ivan Provorov's contract.

Sounds like Gavrikov is re-signing in LA. 2 year deal around $5.8AAV cap hit.

Wonder if we will see more players take short term deals now in anticipation of the cap increasing significantly over the next couple of seasons.

Only leaves them about $7.2 million to resign 2 rfa forwards, 2 D and a starting goalie. A forward most likely getting shipped out it seems.

Yeah rumors are Arvidsson or Iafallo will be traded out for pick(s) to get cap space. I would take either of them on the Pens clearly.

Chicago re-signs Andreas Athanasiou to 2 year, 4.25M AAV deal. A bit odd that they brought him back (and that they didn't deal him at the deadline).

AA had 20 goals 40 points so 4.25M isn't bad. Zucker at 48 points should be around 5M AAV

There's a site I've been using recently (because it's free) called AFP Analytics.

They had AA at just over 3M AAV on a 3 year deal.
They have Zucker at 5.4M on a 5 year deal, and Bertuzzi at 5.25M on a 6 year deal, ROR at 3 years 5.4M

I'm surprised by that term on Zucker. I'd be really surprised if a team goes 5 years
