Steelers Clinch wild card berth with:
-Win over the Cleveland Browns
-New England Patriots loss to Buffalo Bills
-Miami Dolphins loss to New York Jets
Those might look like long odds for some, but there is more to it than at face value. The Bills, who play on Monday Night Football vs. the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 17, will likely have to keep pace with the Kansas City Chiefs for the top spot in the AFC Playoff Picture. Therefore, it is unlikely they rest players in the regular season finale.
As for the Dolphins, it is unclear if Tua Tagovailoa will be cleared to play after his third concussion of the season had him out of the lineup in Week 17. On top of that, Teddy Bridgewater was knocked out of the game with a reported broken finger, so the Dolphins might be leaning on rookie Skylar Thompson. Granted, it would mean the Jets, who were eliminated from postseason play in Week 17, would have to still beat the depleted Dolphins

In all fairness, knocking a rival out of the playoffs can make missing the playoffs easier to swallow. One reason I think rivalry games the last week of the year is a great thing.ville5 wrote:https://www.behindthesteelcurtain.com/2 ... ews-update

Harris was in on first down, should had challenged. Then two dumb calls that were executed poorly we get nothing out of a great drive.

I am **** done with Diontae and anyone who defended his holdout at camp. The fact he didn’t maintain control while running backwards and then let it out of his hands doesn’t change the fact he’s not a top WR.

The Steelers just have no sense of urgency. Like they’re watching the other games rather than focusing on Cleveland.Grunthy wrote:My prediction is looking better and better. Lol

Why not just have everyone check in as eligible every down?Daniel wrote:Illegal man down the field is the dumbest penalty.

Really only end of line and uncovered personnel can declare eligibility.Daniel wrote:I’m sure there is a rule against that.DelPen wrote:Why not just have everyone check in as eligible every down?Daniel wrote:Illegal man down the field is the dumbest penalty.

Anyone care more about Houston winning and Chicago losing than what happens with the AFC East games?

Why does it feel like this is Greg Gumble’s first game ever? He’s just mailing it in.

It was the only reason we called a TO too so they would be compelled to review it.Daniel wrote:I agree and it’s awful that they didn’t review it.DelPen wrote:That’s a catch. He’s dragging those toes the whole time.

**** Johnson, runs parallel to the line of gain untouched to go out and doesn’t even try to extend the ball to get a first down

Re: Official Pittsburgh Steelers Thread
The last two games aside getting late game winning TD’s, this total ineptness in the red zone all year has to get Canada fired. Even if you want to say the players aren’t very good then you have to design plays that work with the players you have and he never does that. He has and idea of how a play should go and sends it in and ignores when it has been garbage all game.

Houston is up by 10, Chicago is down by 17 and Claypool has no catches. Perhaps Hextall ought to talk to Khan about how to get overpayment for a worthless player.DelPen wrote:Anyone care more about Houston winning and Chicago losing than what happens with the AFC East games?

The offense might be young, but Canada has too many big weapons for the team to be this bad in the red zone.DelPen wrote:The last two games aside getting late game winning TD’s, this total ineptness in the red zone all year has to get Canada fired. Just Gentry, Freiermuth, and Pickens alone would be enough for a competent OC to be way more productive in the red zone.

If that pick ends up being #32 I’ll just pretend we won the Super Bowl.Daniel wrote:Houston is up by 10, Chicago is down by 17 and Claypool has no catches. Re: Official Pittsburgh Steelers Thread
The official sees his elbow down and put the whistle in his mouth and then decided to let the play go.

This whole game has been weird. The Steelers running a play rather than review, the officials refusing to review another play and not this one.DelPen wrote:The official sees his elbow down and put the whistle in his mouth and then decided to let the play go.
