The Bears are helping the Steelers more than they are. Haven’t won a game since they traded for Claypool and the Steelers will likely get a top 3 in the 2nd round.Grunthy wrote:Win the next two, have the dolphins or chargers lose out, only to tie Cleveland on the final game to get a crappy draft pick position and just miss the playoffs. Is it just me or have the Steelers regressed from “should win the AFC” to “need to win out and hope for help just to be dominated in the first round”.
They’ve just become mediocre.

Why are we playing zone against a QB that is essentially a running back?

It’s the Steelers way.Grunthy wrote:Why are we playing zone against a QB that is essentially a running back?
Whether they lose this week, miss the playoffs next week, or lose in the first round, at the end of the day the draft pick is the only difference. I’m just happy Chicago keeps lowering the 2nd round pick.

This game might take the NFL back to 1972. 8 drives, 12-9 final score.

I’m just worried they will keep status quo. Mike Tomlin is essentially the Alex Smith of coaches. Always keeps you in contention, but never has that it factor that gets you over the top unless literally everything falls into place miraculously.Daniel wrote:It’s the Steelers way.Grunthy wrote:Why are we playing zone against a QB that is essentially a running back?

It does help that they have the Alex Smith of QBs.Grunthy wrote:I’m just worried they will keep status quo. Mike Tomlin is essentially the Alex Smith of coaches. Why it’s getting harder to watch football. Hayward did shove somebody, but it wasn’t that bad.Grunthy wrote:Literally the raven pulled Heyward onto him and heyward gets a penalty. If that “shove” is the unnecessary roughness, then we better see a penalty thrown on every play after the whistle.

I agree you’d see a penalty after every play, but I didn’t see anything else that would even rise to the violence of the shove.Grunthy wrote:If that “shove” is the unnecessary roughness, then we better see a penalty thrown on every play after the whistle.
Based on the announcers saying Hayward kept talking to the refs, maybe they just got tired of being told about all the Ravens penalties so called one on him.

Re: Official Pittsburgh Steelers Thread
Cam confirmed after the game that his penalty was solely for making contact with the official. That’s even more ridiculous than calling it for a slightly embellished fall onto the Raven player.

Re: Official Pittsburgh Steelers Thread
Maybe I misunderstood. But from what I heard, Collinsworth inferred it wasn't a penalty but it was called and nothing could be done. And way worse things have happened in pileups that haven't been called.Grunthy wrote:Literally the raven pulled Heyward onto him and heyward gets a penalty.
