I don’t think it was crown of the helmet hit, but I’d have to see it again.Grunthy wrote:Daniel wrote:If you’re talking about the hit on Boswell, it might have been dirty but it was completely legal.Grunthy wrote:Hit him with his head lowered. Should have been a penalty.
Incredibly stupid call by Tomlin. Defensive struggle, can go up a field goal AND get the ball first in the 2nd half. Now they can’t kick field goals, have to go for 2 on all PATs and have probably lost Boswell for a few weeks. Not even to mention that the Steelers had to kneel on the ball rather than push forward because no point in pushing forward when you don’t have a kicker.
Just stupid.
It wasn’t legal. The moment the crown of his helmet hit Boswell’s face mask made it illegal. The play call was stupid but that doesn’t excuse the officials missing an obvious helmet to helmet hit that cause a player to bleed from the mouth and get a concussion.

Tomlin’s stupid decision is still having consequences. Season on the line, lose your kicker because of a stupid decision, should be ahead. I have thought Tomlin has been pretty bad for about a decade and really needs to go.

I agree that Tomlin is not good anymore, but that doesn't excuse the refs calling ticky tacky garbage and then missing blatant stuff.

Re: Official Pittsburgh Steelers Thread
I think this might be the best overall Steelers draft year since probably 1974. 4 immediate starters with your first 4 picks. Just an incredible job by Colbert.Grunthy wrote:Wow... What catch
I thought Freiermuth had first round grades and I thought the best of the draft, but then again I love traditional Heath Miller type TEs.

It was a good draft year, but we have no QB.

Re: Official Pittsburgh Steelers Thread
There are always some decent QB’s available for a mid round pick that can still play or are released. We can find someone decent next year if this is Ben’s last one.

Re: Official Pittsburgh Steelers Thread
I’d rather have this draft and let Rudolph and Haskins battle to replace Ben. Worst case, 2023 will have some pretty good QBs and you have a solid young team to put him into.Grunthy wrote:Daniel wrote:I think this might be the best overall Steelers draft year since probably 1974. 4 immediate starters with your first 4 picks. It was a good draft year, but we have no QB.
They needed new RB, TE, OT, and Center. I don’t see a QB as a better value both short term or long term. No need to draft a QB in 2021 at the expense of those positions. Take Ben out of the offensive and the average age is about 25 or so, Let this group grow and Rudolph/Haskin/2023 1st round QB will be successful.

Have to think this game would probably be 12-10 if Boswell wasn’t assaulted and given a concussion.

It would at least be 20-10 if not for the stupidity of Tomlin.DelPen wrote:Have to think this game would probably be 12-10 if Boswell wasn’t assaulted and given a concussion.

So with the long MNF win streak and the long Bears losing streak to only outcome to this game can be a tie.

Re: Official Pittsburgh Steelers Thread
Fitzpatrick seems to only be good in one on one coverage when a QB is dumb enough to throw near him. But he can’t tackle someone running at him and can’t play zone coverage.

It’s like they got people that didn’t watch a football game in their life and had them watch highlight clips before announcing.
