2 goals in 2 games vs. the Lightning ain't going to cut it, especially when you only allow them 15 shots and totally shutdown their PP. Still, while Nedeljkovic let in a soff GWG last game, not much he could do tonight, except maybe not ice the puck so much(3!) trying to help the anemic Cane offense. With the series heading to Tampa and it appearing that Trochek will be iffy to go along with Nino out, not looking good at all for Carolina against TB who hasn't played their best yet in the first two games.

It’s almost not fair that Tampa added Kucherov at the start of the playoffs. Had he been playing all year they would have had to make some hard cap decisions to fit him in and also not been able to really make any improvements at the deadline.

But they did that within the rules, I’m sure they would have preferred to have him all year and figure out the cap than possibly not having him at all.

It would be an interesting story having the Avs play the Habs next round just over 25 years after Colorado stole Roy.

What Schieffle just did to Evans is the worst thing I’ve seen this playoffs. He should be gone for a long time.

Schieffle never even tried to play the puck and went for the cheap hit and this one announcer keeps trying to find ways to justify it.

Dominic Moore kept saying Schieffle “drove through him”
Not sure what that means Dom. But it sounds dirty...

Of course it was Dom Moore struggling to excuse that as anything but a hit that has zero place at any level of hockey. This was worse than what Kadri and Reaves did and it’s not even close.

It's not even the first dirty hit after an ENG in the 2021 playoff year. The NHL continues to make a mockery of the sport when they should be highlighting it. Wouldn't be surprised to see a fine or a one game suspension for it.

Vegas is not good enough to give the Avs 4 PP in a period.

That Schieffle hit reminds me of the Dale Hunter hit on Pierre Turgeon - which essentially ended his career - he was never the same. How can you be that big of a baby? Watching Ehlers hold folks off after the hit was impressive. Ehlers should have the A on his sweater - not 55.

It's amazing how many players have letters on their jersey due to ego as opposed to deserving it.

AVS v Vegas reminded me of some of the pens v caps series.
The 3rd period was one of the best I've seen in 2 years.

I thought he was dead. That hit was so bad.

Thought of that right away. Not quite as bad, but close.

The Schieffle/Evans hit isn't close to the Hunter/Turgeon. The Schieffle hit was 100% unnecessary, but those two hits are not comparable.

The Hunter hit was 4 seconds after the goal, Hunter chased him down to make the hit, (tried to) hit him from behind, hit him into the boards.

Agreed Jim. Totally different. I think more of it in terms of the poor sportsmanship. Reason being Schieffle had a two minute minor for being a dolt earlier in the third, and was essentially pissed off at himself so he went and took it out on Evans.

Why did the Islanders allow 12k in attendance tonight when the arena only holds 14k? What is the thinking behind that?

That was UGLY. There has been more than a few goals like that in these playoffs. Preds' Saros gave up two almost identical to Marchment's in an otherwise pretty stellar series for him. Then of course there's the Palmeiri-Jarry goal.

Go Canes damnit lol. No particular reason. Mostly because it's a non-traditional hockey market and I'm a fan of a few of their players. Staal especially, obviously.

1 out of every 7 seats has to be empty? Why not full capacity?

Or...

It's the Islanders, like they are going to sell 12K tickets...

Pretty sure the former, because what's the point of one out of seven seats empty unless you only sell tickets in groups of six, and everyone in the six has to arrive together and prove they know each other. Even then, what the hell does that accomplish? It's all theatre at this point, and it's stupid.

But also, yeah, like the Islanders are going to sell 12K tickets.

Cerelli always seems to be involved in great forecheck goals. Love watching that dude play hockey.
