Can't ever remember two HC's fired in-season and then hired by other teams in the same season.

Don't think any team will touch Babcock for a while, but Lavy was rumored almost instantly after being fired to be a prime candidate in Seattle. On a side note, didn't realize Kreider was as quick as he is. Pipe dream I know, but would love him on the Pens roster.

This new target system is garbage. LED boxes behind plexiglass that don’t register half the time. Leave it to the NHL to creat a over complicated fix to a problem that didn’t exist.

Rule change suggestion, in OT allow the goalies to go wherever they want, trapezoid be damned. Test it in the next all star game. Or just do it. And then get rid of the rule all together.

Saw that Ben Street was sent down by the Devils and thought... was he Pen's property a while ago? Yes. Wheeling and WBS 2010-2012. He has played in the NHL for 5 different NHL teams over 7 stints (Cal, Col, Det, Ana, NJ). Over those 5 teams he has totaled only 3-6-9 in 59 games.

However, in the AHL (7 teams), 424 games where he is basically a 30g/70p guy. Including 26p in 32 last year and 33p in 33 so far this year.

Rumor has it some radio host in Toronto says MLSE sources are saying a possible deal between Toronto and St. Louis is being discussed. Names mentioned are Andreas Johnsson, Timothy Liljegren, our 15thoa and Colton Parayko.

Arizona got a 2nd for $6.5M cap hit Stepan from Ottawa. Ottawa only on hook for $2M in actual $ though. ($3M bonus already paid by Arizona)

This move got Arizona to $3M under the cap, and a 2nd round pick to boot. Stepan is a decent hockey player, but he is a bit of an offensive black hole. I am willing to point to him being a consistent ev line mate of Kessel as a major contributor to Kessel going from 174 points over the prior two seasons, to 38 points last season.

Very good move by Arizona.
