The line was actually about 4 inches too far up and on the replay the call was at the yellow when he was touched. Not sure how you blow that on a replay.

Thanks Tomlin. Classic coaching job. Some coaches make halftime adjustments, not our guy.

They canned an incompetent ref earlier in the season. Let's see what happens with this crew following this performance.

Who put quaaludes in the dang halftime Gatorade?!? What an awful 2nd half. Nevermind the horrible officiating, our beloved Stillers did much of the damage to themselves. Of course LAC offense wasn’t going to suck in the 2nd half so badly but where did the dang offense go?

Wishing swift healing to Connor and Switzer. Gonna need everybody and a full 60 minutes next week!

That new 1 in the 220-1-2 2nd-half lead record is especially embarrassing.

I’m no Tomlin-lover but in this instance, what halftime adjustments would you have had him make? PIT offense and defense were both cruising. I mean, a freaking + turnover would be nice but we know that’s unlikely with this bunch this year.

Boswell missed xp was huge in this game.
Special teams played horrible again. No return game. 5th missed xp. Game up td on punt return.
Ben missed wide open Hunter for td. That was 4 points lost.
Defense will not double Allen. That was an ego thing. Tried to cover him with a lb.
Abandoned run game again.
Yes, the refs missed some calls but they always do that.
This team has blown a 2.5 game lead and now must win some tough games to get in.

Fair point.

OTOH, the Chargers were going to chance their pass protection scheme at half. The Steeler D did not lay a glove on Rivers their entire second half. Some might have prepared for that. As alluded to above, having linebackers in one-on-one coverage speaks of idiocy. In game coaching is not Tomlin's strong suit.

OTOH, there were clearly other factors involved in this debacle.

I have a huge issue with the line judge missing that false start. Their only job is to check the line, that's it. No one else on the field was moving but one guy. To me, that isn't a missed call because of the speed of the game but because of ineptitude to the point of termination. Either that or they wanted to keep the game close for primetime TV. Either way, inexcusable. We're also talking about a ref crew that had to stop a play because they failed to be in position, were they even in position for the play they missed the blatant false start?

Not saying the Steelers would have won, but at least they'd have lost to the Chargers.

Just watched PTI on ESPN. The Steeler/Charger game was the third story behind Packers coach getting fired and Kareem Hunt getting the boot (eh). The did a long summary of the game and did not mention the officiating. Surprised me.

Anyone in DC or N. VA that can recommend a good Steelers bar for the Raiders game? I'll be in the Alexandria area...

If the Browns don’t screw up Mayfield they will have the best QB in the North in 3 years, maybe sooner.

Thankfully the Chiefs didn’t blow the game so the expected loss today won’t kill this team but if we don’t win the division we aren’t making the playoffs.

You have a 3rd and less than one and Samuels decides not to bull forward to pick up an easy 1st which forces James to hold and kills the drive.

Why does this team always throw 3 yards behind the line of scrimmage when they need to pick up just one yard?

When you late on "quick out" pass pattern, the best you hope for is an incomplete pass.

I’m all for a defensive coordinator change. I’m pretty sure our only hope for our secondary is if Jesus came down and suited up.
