Wow, a stop only because Flacco overthrew a wide open WR for an easy TD.

Refs don’t know the rules anymore. Connor with a great block shoulder to chest and they call it blind side.
I think NHL DOPS took over

Only the Steelers can make Joe Flacco not look like Joe Flacco.

Re: Official Pittsburgh Steelers Thread
They look like a poorly coached, poorly prepared, poorly disciplined team. Mike Tomlin is nothing more than Dan Bylsma. Won the championship with someone else's team, good regular season success, but lackluster in the playoffs. Team isn't mentally tough enough to handle adversity, plays down to the level of the opponent, poor fundamentals.Steve wrote:Only the Steelers can make Joe Flacco not look like Joe Flacco.
Problem is, the Steelers are married to the "haven't fired a coach in 50 years" and won't fire Tomlin, though he deserves it. Keep Munchack (maybe WR coach and possibly give more chances to secondary coach) and clean house otherwise.

It was nice to give the defense the night off tho. They probably needed the rest. ![Rolling Eyes ](./images/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif)

The attached attached article is from Cincinnati.com following the Steelers victory over the Bungles. It's hilarious.

Nor do the Steelers (the free kick by the Browns). A gift to the Browns. Maybe that's why it's called a "free" kick.DelPen wrote:Refs don’t know the rules anymore.

Steelers go up 16-6 after a safety. Nix calls fair catch and runs away from the free kick and no one else touches it. Browns recover. Roughing the passer, pass interference, holding then pass interference again but Browns still catch the TD.
What a horrendous series. How do they not know the kick is a live ball?

Re: Official Pittsburgh Steelers Thread
I don't know what to think of this team. They laid a total egg in the first quarter and avoided being down 21-0 because they were playing the Browns.
They then turned it completely around, more or less, but then Switzer botches the free kick, the defense takes a bunch of dumb penalties, and they gift the Browns a TD. That's coaching.
On the plus side, Conner looks great.

Re: Official Pittsburgh Steelers Thread
My summary on the Steelers: The offense, with Connors and McDonald coming on, is very formidable. The defense is highly suspect, beginning with the secondary. A good quarterback (read: above average) will pick them apart. They will make the playoffs. Anything beyond that is doubtful.

It's highly doubtful James Conner will ever catch Walter Payton or Troy Polamalu as my favorites of all-time. But if he remains a Stiller for any length of time and keeps ballin the way he has, he has a good shot at 3rd. Such a feel good story. And a Pitt guy and semi-Pittsburgher at that. Go Conner.

Re: Official Pittsburgh Steelers Thread
I think he now has until Friday 11/7 to sign? No way the Steelers agree to pay him the two weeks for the roster exception or whatever it’s called. And I doubt he plays any meaningful snaps rest of the year even if he does sign, he can’t be trusted.Pens4Life wrote:Soo whats the story with Le'Veon Bell now? Burnett and Sensenbough both suck. Hopefully they can use that money they won’t be paying Bell next year to get a better CB and ILB.

This team was missing players like McDonald and Switzer that teams like the Patriots seem to have every year.

Yep, McDonald was a real find. Switzer? Not sure what to make of him, but he does resemble Edelman et al. of the Patriots. Ben seems to have confidence in him.DelPen wrote:This team was missing players like McDonald and Switzer that teams like the Patriots seem to have every year.
Boy, Newton sure took a pounding last night. Is our D coming together or is Panther O-line just awful? Watt and Dupree finally surfaced.
Another plus, Artie Toast did not get scorched last night. Hard to do when you are on the sidelines.

Burns was on for the garbage time TD near the end.Humperdink wrote:Yep, McDonald was a real find. Switzer? Not sure what to make of him, but he does resemble Edelman et al. of the Patriots. I like the Panthers. The Panthers will need to address Cam Newton not being in the end zone and defense's inconsistency with a carousel of defensive coordinators.Humperdink wrote:

Re: Official Pittsburgh Steelers Thread
All defensive backs suck when you don't get pressure on the qb. 4.1 seconds is about the length that you can keep everyone covered. If you don't get to the qb in 4.1, you cannot blame the secondary. Burnett and Sensie can get the job done in 4.1 and under, Artie Burns cannot. LOLDelPen wrote:Burnett and Sensenbough both suck. Any good vets floating around that can help shore up RB, ILB or DB?
Since Bell and his agent are huge idiots we should have some cap space now, right?
