Considering that Votto actually struck out (IMO), I'm not surprised.

He did indeed. I can't believe a guy of Melancon's quality isn't getting calls.

If Cole were a Cardinal Votto would have struck out looking at three pitches.

I feel I must post from the ladies' room to assert that Cervelli just CANNOT look at that pitch in that situation.

If I were a manager it would be an automatic fine for a pinch hitter to strike out looking.

Something has to be done about Cutch getting plunked. It's been beyond ridiculous for ages now. What to do? Who to do it? I don't know. But it's just got to stop. Today's HBP was totally in retaliation.

Close out this game with a win, Bucs, and GTHO of there.

Now, Watson retaliates vs. Phillips...and now benches are cleared. Man, I can't stand the Reds.

Sean Rodriguez is blowing a gasket. He and Votto ejected. Byrd ejected, too?

Again, just win and GTHO.

I agree. Wrap this one up fast and GTHO of this stinking town. I've had a lot of good times in Cincy, but never during baseball season.

Not sure what can be done, but it is getting ridiculous.

Ump telling Melancon they "have to" eject hm. No, you don't. Especially in a situation like this, where Melancon's pleading that he wouldn't--couldn't--hit someone intentionally to bring the tying run to the plate.

Love all the judgment calls permitted where it should be clear cut and all the clear cut calls made when judgment needs to be exercised.

A split's OK, but, after watching the replay of last night's game, I'm really bummed we squandered all the opportunities to win the game, especially late.

Cards up 2-1 in the 6th in Colorado, with the Rockies threatening. Let's go, Rockies!

Yeah, I was thinking it was auto but it's not.

Chuckles Morton had a GREAT outing and Soria looked really good. I was concerned about his first appearance but someone pointed out that he got to the park at 4 PM that day so it was a tough situation.

24 saves for Soria.

Had to step away from the Cards-Rockies game when it was 2-2. Went to check the final just now. I don't know why I bother.

It's bot 2nd and 2 Bucs (Cutch attempting to steal, Ramirez picked off 1st) have already been out on the basepaths. This Cubs catcher isn't a hack.

Rain delay now.

PG, the meteor strike can be Thursday's postgame entertainment, after a Reds sweep.
