It's been more than just 2 starts. He's hitting a wall...
Rest him. And somewhere, Vance Worley is :face: at Deolis Guerra. Hell, we all are.

What a lousy birthday present for Hurdle.
Not sure resting him is a good idea, especially with all the speculation that the All-Star break wasn't good for him and perhaps the some of the pitching staff. But either he doesn't care anymore or he got his All-Star selection and now he thinks he's going to cruise the rest of the way (or both). It was just like batting practice for the Reds last night. And then we got the Cubs in a few days.

Pirates get Michael Morse and J. A. Happ.

What year is it?

And why another old Phillies pitcher?

In other news, why can't we keep the Reds off the board?

Morse is awesome. He'll be a fan favorite and well liked in the club house.

I'm good with the Morse and Soria pickups. The Morse one just struck me, because wasn't he on everyone's most wanted trade list a few years ago? Or am I thinking of someone else?

He's a 33 year old guy who's hitting .213 and was on the DL. He's another warm body in my opinion.

He's a warmer body at 1st base than Pete, no?

And please let me welcome you back. I've missed you, man!

I was in Europe for almost a month. He's Pete with a better glove and a LOT less power.

Watching Korean TV YTs of Jung-ho's adventures in a Buccos uniform has been a highlight of this season for me.

My grandmother used to pronounce Europe as "Yerp." Ah, Pittsburghese.

That's awesome. Hope you had a great time. I assume no international incidents...?

During this commercial break, let's play Select Dish's Pizza Toppings. Options I'll consider are:

Pepperoni
Small pepperoni
Light pepperoni
Heavy pepperoni
Large pepperoni

It was incredible - Paris, Brugge, Cologne, Munich, Innsbruck, Venice, Rome, Florence, and Montepulciano. One or two near runs but nothing that would have made the front page.

Heading out for a walk - keep Locke in check till I get back.

I'm not Superwoman! I'm a feeble mortal!

Whoa, Soria! Helluva way to end that inning for the Reds.

Soria to his new pitching compadres: "You guys always have this much trouble vs. umps? Does it always take 30-some pitches?"

I can read lips.

Watson showing that his nostalgic outing with a gas can last time was akin to me drinking tequila.

It happens once in a long while, when it does it's profoundly regrettable, and then we all move on.
