Semin to the Canadians, 1yr $1.1M

Post by Jim »

$1.1M is worth the risk. We will never know (probably) if the Pens made a try for him or not, and if they did what the offer was.

I would tend to think Rutherford would have taken a hands-off perspective on AS, given how badly he performed in Carolina. Semin, that is.

low risk, high reward. Good signing for MTL. That could be a real bargain if he can play anywhere close to the level he is capable of playing.

I agree, this is a good signing by Montreal. I find it fascinating how Semin's play fell through the floor after he left Washington. Seems like he forgot how to play hockey in Raleigh.

On waivers

Hey, from what I understand the same people that like grindy, gritty, hard playing, sniper, leadership type guys line Semin as well. Rutherford would be an idiot not to... nope. Can't even finish the joke.

We have the assertive, aggresive version of Semin. His number is 81 *cough*.

So he'll be receiving paychecks from the Canes, Habs and now a KHL team?
