Where do YOU want Connor McDavid to go?
There are some truly terrible teams playing terribly this season in the NHL, all vying for Connor McDavid or perhaps Jack Eichel.
Connor McDavid has been touted as a generational franchise cornerstone. Where do you want him to go?
I don't want to see him in Philly, Toronto, or New Jersey for obvious reasons. Edmonton is a train wreck and would be wasted out there.
I'm thinking Buffalo would be a good fit for him. I think the city and team could use a boost, and he would be on the East coast so I could watch him play more often.

Buffalo, Phoenix, Columbus, New Jersey, in that order. Hopefully none of the other teams.

Buffalo was the vote, as long as it's not Philadelphia I'm ok with it...would prefer not Edmonton if I had a choice because that's a desolate waste land...

Carolina. In a year or two GMJR will pick him up in a trade for Scuds, Adams and old Zamboni parts.
Profit.
Profit.

New Jersey can rot. But the rest, I agree. Maybe replace NJ with Carolina; they're a fun atmosphere.Kraftster wrote:Buffalo, Phoenix, Columbus,New Jersey, in that order. Hopefully none of the other teams.
Toronto would certainly make for an ever bigger media circus.

I voted Buffalo because I forgot how terrible Toronto is. Toronto would be my number 1 choice. By far the most intriguing story plus I've always kind of liked the Leafs.

Re: Where do YOU want Connor McDavid to go?
Justifications:
Buffalo deserves him... great back story too playing junior in Erie its basically home for the kid plus they've never really had such a talent.
Phoenix could really benefit financially... its been proven if fans there have a reason to go theyll go.
Columbus is a likeable franchise in a town with untapped hockey fan potential.
Philly i hope not but I'd rather there than a canadian team.
Toronto its just too much fun watching them suck and the canadian natonal media burn.
Edmonton please do not send the poor kid to hockey siberia

I'd rather him go to Edmonton than Philly, no matter what scenario.

Voted Buffalo, but out of those, Philly would be the only one I'd be upset if he ended up there. Then Toronto, i'd rather they always suck. Then Colorado, that would be scary if they had Mackinnon, Duchene, Landeskog and McDavid.

Depends. If Buffalo finishes dead last and Edmonton finishes 2nd to last, I don't want him going to Buffalo.

Buffalo or Arizona. They are the only two I see that "need" a star. I'd prefer Arizona because he could probably use the tutelage of Shane Doan which would help reduce pressure. In Buffalo, its all him.

Re: Where do YOU want Connor McDavid to go?
McDavid to Arizona and Eichel to Buffalo...
McDavid would help revitalize a financially struggling franchise, and one that IMO hasn't had much of an absolute superstar since being in the desert that they can call their own, that I can think of off the top of my head. Doan is a star and probably considered the face of the franchise but he's not far from riding into the sunset. Mac has some experience with Domi, as they play in the same division in the O and have been teammates during WJC's.
Eichel is no slouch in his own right. He will still draw a crowd for the Sabres, and most likely be a dominant force. He's definitely a player you could build around. And if Kane comes back from injury and plays at or above his capabilities, the two of them together will be a scary duo for years to come. And with the way the East has bulked up recently, Buffalo could probably use his size as well.

Buffalo, as bad as they are and have been, are still a great hockey market. McDavid going to Buffalo from a PR perspective might be even greater than Crosby going to Pittsburgh.

Buffalo or Colorado.
Although, Flyers would be amusing in a perverse way.

If McDavid went to the Flyers, I would only hope some coach would show him up as a flopper/diver and watch everyone latch onto it for stigma for years to come.columbia wrote:Buffalo or Colorado.
