took it to best buy, dude at the counter said "yeah... that brand is a best buy brand and it sucks. life span is only a year or two." Bought a samsung, similar size, about $150 more... hopefully this one lasts.
I've had a Samsung for about 6 years and it's still good. (Knock wood.)

I know. I didn't wanna do it, but my wife was all about it, and I didn't want to explain to her in public that it's a waste of money.

Yeah. I'm completely serious when saying that the service contracts are what is keeping BB afloat. When CC was gasping its last breath 100% of the profit was coming from service contracts, they were selling every thing else as a loss leader.

Ah, I see. Well, if 3-5 days wasn't a necessity and it could have been 5-8 days, then priority mail flat rate envelope is half that price at least...

The last two times I've had to send in manuscripts to my publisher, I've found an interesting USPS quirk. I'm in Somerset, my publisher is near Lancaster. Both times I've sent it Next Day air. Both times they've told me that is won't get there next day, but it will arrive the second day after shipment. I asked them if I could ship to CA next day and they said I could and it would arrive the very next day. So I can send next day mail across the country and it will arrive in time, but if I send it across PA, it is impossible to send it next day. Makes sense to me.

As far as international shipping, a year or two ago I had to send a fairly large package to a friend in the UK who was in he Royal Air Force. He wanted me to send it FedEx so I took it to the nearest FedEx shipping center. Their quote? $330. I thought that was insane so I went to UPS. Their quote ended up being just under $400. I couldn't believe how expensive it was.

I'll tell you what he did. He changed his name here. So now he can't get Polish Social Security because they're like... who the hell is this? He has to prove it's him. That paper also has his name change on the back.

This is 100% rational, but I don't care. If you're at a packed bar and have paid your check and are no longer drinking, you have 5 min to leave your seats so someone else can sit. More than that and you're an *******.
