Petry to MTL for 2nd and 5th (Conditional)
If Habs win one round, 5th becomes a 4th; if Habs win 2 rounds, pick becomes a third

One of these years they'll hold own every pick at the draft. And they'll still botch it.

I think everyone seriously is over valuing Jeff Petry.

It's not over valuing Petry, it's the fact that the Oilers completely missed on 2 trades.

Doesn't matter, they should have still gotten more from a guy everyone is hyping especially one of the few guys left available. After the Coburn trade, teams int he East should have been panicking and driving his price up.pens2005 wrote:I think everyone seriously is over valuing Jeff Petry.

Yeah, it's not the actual value of Petry. It's his value on this extreme seller's market.

Ignore rumor claiming #LAK traded Slava Voynov to #Flyers. @TSNRyanRishaug says it's bogus.

Re: 2014-15 Non-Pens Transactions
Good trade for both teams re: Coburn. Really good top-four support player. Just can't "lead" a pairing...he was playing a rung too high in Philadelphia. I suspect he'll be paired with Victor Hedman in Tampa and be really good...much like Seidenberg was for Chara in '11. Gudas is a classic #6 physical guy. Mean as they come. Skating and puck skills are limited. Tampa a little bit concerned about Gudas' mobility coming off of season-ending knee surgery. Flyers probably have a plan for Luke Schenn, as you can't voluntarily roster Luke Schenn and Radko Gudas (ignoring Nicklas Grossmann and the incoming Samuel Morin)...
Tampa did pretty good with Brett Connolly - who was just starting to come around...so it's a good fit for both teams...

I read an article this morning where Sharp denies the cheating rumors and says he's very hurt by the whole thing.

Not if teams weren't as interested as the rumor mills suggested. It seriously all depends on how many teams are legitimately interested.DelPen wrote:Doesn't matter, they should have still gotten more from a guy everyone is hyping especially one of the few guys left available. Re: 2014-15 Non-Pens Transactions
Their recent trade history suggest they have no idea what the market is for their players. We could probably get Ference and a 3rd for Bortuzzo right now with them eating half his salary to boot.pens2005 wrote:Not if teams weren't as interested as the rumor mills suggested. McKenzie & others've been rumoring that one since at least last night.
Guessing he's a replacement for Lindbohm or Cole or someone.

Coburn has some snarl that those guys don't have. They definitely got a little tougher in the top 4 with this trade.Avyran wrote:Tampa's defense is Hedman & a bunch of fringe top 4 d-men (Stralman, Coburn, Carle, Garrison, even Sustr). I can't decide if that's a good thing or not.

Sustr is not a good thing, at least not right now...
Coburn is definitely a top-four player, Stralman and Garrison are also very good mid-pairing guys...

Yeah, I don't consider Stralman and Coburn to be fringe top-four guys. They may not be able to anchor a team's defense, as mikey alluded to above, but they belong in a team's top 4.
