Having a Lost Abbey Deliverance Ale. Dear God in heaven it's good. You can taste the bourbon and brandy.

Nugget Nectar is a great beer, I dunno, I guess I am very fortunate to live about an hour from Hershey so I can easily get it for months. Either way, solid offering.

Tried Victory Hop Ranch on tap tonight. This my friends...this is a fantastic beer. Solid DIPA. Victory seems to be wizards when it comes to hop balancing, and this is no exception. Definite West Coast hop character, but well balanced.

I find that I appreciate NN more as I drink it. My first couple cans out of the case were good, but I love it now.

I put my Schneider Weisse Aventinus Eisbock in the fridge for tomorrow... looking forward to trying this.

Hmm, I have yet to see this one round these parts. Is this a new release this year or have I just missed this one in the past?

I love Nugget Nectar, but have gotten myself into some trouble with it because it's soooo drinkable.

I've been told Hop Ranch is excellent, but have not had the chance to try it myself.

Really enjoyed one too many jujus last night. Also had a GL blackout stout which I thought was excellent. Had flying dog kujo coffee stout to end the evening and I remember being dissipointed that there wasn't enough coffee taste (probably because I ended with it, look forward to trying again)

I think I'm close to going on record to putting Blackout stout solidly in 2nd place for my favorite easily available russian imperial stout behind Old Rasputin.

Last time I had it, I broke ribs playing backyard tackle soccer, so this time went much smoother. I just had my first ever rasputin last week and that was really great as well. A good RIS is hard to beat, I'm always on the lookout for a new one to try.

Just off the top of my head, look for: Oskar Blue's Ten Fidy, Bell's Expedition Stout, Great Divide's Yeti (the oak aged one is good too), and Stone has a good Russian Imperial Stout as well. I'm sure there are more, but those are just ones I remember having and thinking they were pretty good.

Ipa season is back (not that there's ever really an off season for it) and wanted to see if anyone wants to try something like tif is doing with oscars. Maybe a bracket of the best IPAs? Based on nominations we can set up seeds. If anyone is interested, I can set it up. If not, I'll do it in my head.

we could do other beer types too. IPA obviously would be the easiest to get a ton of nominations.

Yeah, was just thinking to start with one type to keep it manageable. Figure that people could only nominate or vote for only beers you have had, so things don't win on reputation. This might hurt some of those that aren't widely distrubuted, but hopefully people won't vote against a beer just because they haven't tried it. Once all the nominations are in we could break them down by region and seed them based on BA's rating.

That's a great idea. I doubt I will have had the ability to taste most of the non widely available ones but I'm sure it wouldn't affect the overall outcome of the bracket

What do you guys think about how many to do? Maybe four regions of 8 each? Six have to be from the region and two can be wildcards? I know this limits it some, but also want it to be manageable.

Wow... this Schneider Weisse Aventinus Eisbock is awesome. It has a deeper taste than the regular Aventinus and is a bit thicker. It's also 12%. There is a bit of an after burn from the alcohol, but nothing overwhelming. Probably good that it was only 11.2oz because it's kind of kicking my butt atm.
