5 points out for the fly guys (as they are ridiculously referred to here).
They'll sneak in as the 8 over Boston I think. We shall see.

They still have to leapfrog the Panthers.pens2005 wrote:5 points
Doesn't hurt the Flyers that they played the Sabres tonight. But p05, they really didn't look great in that win.
They've got CBJ again, then the Sabres again, and then party time is over with the Preds and Caps shortly thereafter.
The Panthers, Caps, and Bruins are all better teams. Can you really visualize one of those teams conceding a spot to the Flyers? I can't, and I don't think it's entirely wishful thinking. There are 25-ish games left.
But let's say the Flyers squeak in. The Habs or Isles will smoke them. I look at it as a problem that will eventually take care of itself, either by the Flyers' own ineptitude, or by them running into a buzzsaw.

True...they definitely have some winnable games coming up though.Lt. Dish wrote:They still have to leapfrog the Panthers.pens2005 wrote:5 points

Isles and Rags. Not sure who I would like to see get the 2. Just hope no tie coming.

At the 10:00 mark of the second period, the Islanders have 32 shots on the Rangers

If it comes down to an Isles/Preds SCF.... I unfortunately think this will be the last NHL season I ever watch.

It's funny, because that might be a high-flying, offensive series with very athletic goaltenders...that'd be the fastest SCF we've seen in a while perhaps...

Re: Other NHL games 2014-2015 season
Very fun to watch. Both teams play a really entertaining, up-tempo style. Sorta relentless in their attack. I watch it & see why the Pens struggle against both... if they get the momentum, they push really hard. Lots of skill throughout both lineups.
I think the Rangers'd beat the Isles in a lot of close games in the playoffs 4-1 or something.

Re: Other NHL games 2014-2015 season
I doubt it would happen but I hated the Isles at least since 93' and Nashville led by First year Flash in the pan Laviolette are all of a sudden the sexy pick and this is a team that has won I think one or two playoff series?mikey287 wrote:It's funny, because that might be a high-flying, offensive series with very athletic goaltenders...that'd be the fastest SCF we've seen in a while perhaps...

What a game, it's awesome when teams actually...um, score goals.
My fantasy team doesn't know what to think. I have Brassard, Stepan, McDonough, and Halak!![Sad :(](./images/smilies/icon_sad.gif)

Re: Other NHL games 2014-2015 season
The thing that stands out for me vis-a-vis the Pens is that when either of these teams go on the attack in the offensive end, their attackers all seem to know what each other is going to do and go hard to the net.Avyran wrote:Very fun to watch. For the first time in franchise history, the Avs went an entire period without allowing a single SOG. The Coyotes only mustered five shots through the first two periods.

Washington & Pittsburgh tonight? Dallas & St. Louis too? What about San Jose vs. Nashville?
Better put Buffalo vs. New Jersey on national TV.

Pens v Caps has been such a mismatch, maybe they didn't want another blowout/lopsided shutout???Avyran wrote:Washington & Pittsburgh tonight? Dallas & St. Louis too? What about San Jose vs. Nashville?

They did get the Free Gamecenter Sample slot though

Maybe they made the schedule before the beginning of the season...?
