during a woot off, it's $5 per item you buy for shipping. Why can't they just wait until the end of the wootoff and combine all your orders into one big order and do the shipping from there?

Re: Your irrational pet peeves
Our company expanded to take over another suite on this floor. There is a microwave on the other side but one of our employees comes over here to pop her damn popcorn at 10am.
"you know you have a microwave over on your side right?"
"Yeah but I like this one."
Grrrrrrr....

They are probably afraid of that unknown and strange other microwave will ruin their precious popcorn.

Frankly, I don't see the big deal with microwaveable popcorn...I don't find it too appetizing...

I can take it if it's not "buttered" but otherwise it makes my stomach turn.pens9192 wrote:They are probably afraid of that unknown and strange other microwave will ruin their precious popcorn.
I just bought an air popper recently and they make much better popcorn.

I prefer making it on the stove top. Just remember to keep the pan moving.

Re: Your irrational pet peeves
I've been turned off to popcorn in recent years because places where's it's prepared for you (movie theaters, etc) make it so damn salty and buttery that it tastes so bad.
I've had the same thing happen with baked potatoes. My stepmom dumps an entire salt mine on her baked potatoes and has made me hate them. Haven't had a baked potato in several years

Microwave is much easier but fresh popped is so superior it's not even close. Coconut oil, flavacol, and kernels. Mmm

Virtual runs. Pay money to run alone? No thanks, I'd rather just donate to your charity. My wife does this and just likes to collect the medals.

When people get all up in my business as I'm trying to put my cash/card back in my wallet at the register. If there's room, i'll move my stuff to the side so you can check out 10 seconds sooner, if not... back up off me.

My wife does these sometimes, though she does actually run. She still prefers to actually run with people, but she does the virtual runs every once in a while.dodint wrote:Virtual runs. Yeah, my wife runs too. Though that particular one she's going to run a half-marathon at a real race and count it towards the virtual 5K. It's cheating except that she runs about 20mi a week anyway.

Re: Your irrational pet peeves
I did find it funny though the one virtual race she did they sent her a medal within like a few days of signing up. I'm like what incentive is that to actually run, I mean I know it's a "virtual" run but you would think they would want some sort of proof. This was a nice medal too not some cheap thing.

Re: Your irrational pet peeves
I am perplexed by the notion of this "virtual run" concept...why not just sell a $25 t-shirt and give the proceeds to the charity? Why is there a 5k attached to it in any way?

When she went and did the Disney half-marathon she did some smaller runs that same week and came back with more bling than Sacha Baron Cohen in The Dictator.

Easy microwave popcorn..
1/4 cup kernals
1 small brown paper sandwich bag
Drop kernals in bag and fold over the top and microwave for 60 seconds. Pops without any of the crap the bags throw in. Thanks Dr Oz!
