I know his contributions to modern society don't outpace Demis Roussos by that much, but I thought a Nobel Prize winner was worth a mention

R.I.P. Negativland's Ian Allen. Without him, we wouldn't have had a "A Big 10-8 Place":

RIP the Honorable Ruggero Aldisert of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit at age 95. Judge Aldisert wrote some of my favorite books on legal writing and reasoning, including Logic for Lawyers. Although he assumed senior status back in 1986, he continued to hear cases and write opinions until just last year, and he was as sharp and capable a judge as he ever was.

RIP Billy Casper...one of the finest golfers in the history of the PGA Tour (seventh in all-time wins, three-time major winner). He played in the shadow of Player, Nicklaus, and Palmer but was an all-time great in his own right.

What a bummer. I went back and forth on what to say about him, and I've found myself lost for words. Dementia is rough and I know it frustrated/angered him because he relied on his smarts. I hope his last days were moments of clarity with his wife and kids.

A true legend.

This one is tough. One of the heroes of my childhood and the reason I became a lifelong Carolina fan. I met him as an eight year old and it was a highlight of my life. When I moved to the Triangle, he's the reason I settled in Chapel Hill instead of Durham or Raleigh. My heart is heavy, man...

Simon was killed in a car crash; the livery cab he was a passenger in crashed and exploded after hitting a gas tanker truck on New York City's West Side Highway
Wow, awful. RIP
