I'm that guy. I'm aware of it and try to curb it and be a better active listener, but I can't help but try and match experiences. Not sure if it's an empathy thing, accommodation, or a narcissism trait. Want to help me talk it out?

I don't think this guy realizes he even does it. It's obviously not done with malice but if we're talking about replacing the toner in the printer, we don't need to hear about that one time you tried to change the toner at your old job and got ink all over your shirt.
I used to work with someone with this condition. It was amazing how quickly he could spin any story to him and his family.

Similarly, I work with a "mommy" who turns every. single. discussion. into something about her kids. And you're supposed to care and think it's cute.

No lie, on her FIRST DAY here - she cornered me in the kitchen whilst I was heating up my lunch and told me how she had to...uh...manually assist her child go #2. And it was like it was the most normal convo in the world.

Cannot tell you how much I LOATHE this person.

American Crew: Fiber

It's my go to for hair product. Takes a little bit of getting used to as it's not exactly like gel, more of a cream or wax. But when it sets it doesn't get crusty like gel, and there's not much shine with it either.

American Crew is the brand and then they have like 5 different types. The fiber is the stuff I like. Also it smells amazing.

for the longest time I thought this phrase was just an incomprehensible "a little dabulldooya"

I couldn't figure out what "dabulldooya" was

IPP: Mike Richards has cleared waivers, and will report to the Manchester Monarchs of the AHL........ where he will be making more money than he is paid as a King.

(Has to do with NHLPA escrow payments deducted from player's pay; while in the A he won't be subject to that deduction. Technically, he's not being paid more in the minors, he's just allowed to keep more of his earnings in pocket.)

Sweeper is regional dialect or no? I don't think I've ever called it that before, though I've heard it in passing - rarely...

My family all says sweeper. I don't know if it's regional though. I think "carpet sweeper" was a pretty common device at one time. They were different from vacuum cleaners.

Sweeper is regional to the Midwest.

It's a vacuum. In my world, a broom is the closest thing to an object that sweeps.
