I keep 2nd guessing myself when I say "Mark Arcobello" because his first name should be Marco.

When the Steelers first drafted #32, my father thought his name was "Frank O'Harris".MRandall25 wrote:I keep 2nd guessing myself when I say "Mark Arcobello" because his first name should be Marco.

Wow...I just don't understand the need for another backup that is more size than ability...wasn't Kuemper already providing ****** goaltending...? If you had no intention of being patient with your goaltending situation and finding a better fit, you should have at least panicked and fired your coach after they were strung up on national television last night...

Blues have supposedly stated that they want to move him - Brodeur isn't sure he wants to go elsewhere.

I think a spot for Brodeur just opened up for the next 3-5 weeks, on a playoff contender.Kovy27 wrote:Blues have supposedly stated that they want to move him - Brodeur isn't sure he wants to go elsewhere.

Looks like Marc Staal is getting a 6 year at AAV at 5.7 mill.
Adios Paul Martin.

I think Martin was going to walk at the end of the season regardless of the Staal deal. It's just now he has an idea of how much he can get.
Also, isn't Ehrhoff a UFA at the end of the season? He may initially have wanted to resign with the Pens. But after seeing this, he may test the waters a bit.

I would gladly let Ehrhoff walkllipgh2 wrote:I think Martin was going to walk at the end of the season regardless of the Staal deal. It's just now he has an idea of how much he can get.

Re: 2014-15 Non-Pens Transactions
He's looked out of sorts the last few games and I came to the conclusion that it is because he's playing with random rookies and over compensating for it. They need to put him with someone that can stabilize him. Also, I love his shot...I wish they would use it on the PP...esp with Letang out.SolidSnake wrote:I would gladly let Ehrhoff walkllipgh2 wrote:I think Martin was going to walk at the end of the season regardless of the Staal deal. He's the vet. He needs to be the stabilizer.

Re: 2014-15 Non-Pens Transactions
Ehrhoff has not been extended asap as some predicted. Imagine he won't until mgmt sees how he works with this team in the playoffs.
Truth be told, I don't think we need him. We'll still have a logjam of NHL-caliber D:
Letang-Despres
Harrington-Maatta
Scuderi-Pouliot
Dumoulin-Bortuzzo

Ehrhoff is easily replaced from within. Much rather throw the extra cash at martin and let ehrhoff go, especially after the last handful of games (for both of them).

Re: 2014-15 Non-Pens Transactions
Wow, Mike Richards on waivers today...that's surprising. I know he has that boat of a contract, but he's still a third line center in this league...he is winding down, so the idea of hitching yourself to a declining player until 2020 is less than appealing...I guess he has to clear, but may be swapped out for another bad contract...

I bet someone picks him up. Toronto, probably, who had been trying to acquire him but deal fell through on one end or another.

I'm coming up empty on a contract close to or equally as bad to swap with.

Re: 2014-15 Non-Pens Transactions
I knew of interest from several teams in the offseason and the Kings balked...now Bob even says that a few teams inquired over the weekend for him and the Kings couldn't get a deal done...so there's definitely interest...be curious to see how this all plays out...

Re: 2014-15 Non-Pens Transactions
Only (used liberally here) 5 years left at $22 million for Richards after this year...so perhaps a team that believes he could be their third line center, has cap space, but a tighter internal cap might be interested...even a team like Ottawa...interesting to see how this shakes out...

Re: 2014-15 Non-Pens Transactions
His actual take home salary steps down too, I believe, as the years wind down. So real dollars out the door lessen in the next few years.
