[Nash] is the NHL’s best player
ok so it's a satirical article

Nash does deserve some weak, fringe consideration for the Hart. I didn't read the article, but he's been the Rangers best player this year.

One of my players made it on ESPN and Sportsnet!

Unfortunately - I guess - he's not the stick artist here, but he is the finisher on the play. Way to go, Max!

It's a pretty safe bet that, half way through the season, the top 8 teams in the east will be the top 8 teams going into the playoffs, no?

Florida is ahead of Boston right now based on winning %. They've 3 games in hand, and while they are the least known/sexy pick to make it, they've been playing quite well and only getting better as the season progresses. I wouldn't count them out. Indeed, I think the only way they don't make it is if none of the teams they're chasing falters at all the second half.

I'd also venture to say that the East looks stronger than the West for the first time in a long time.

Reto Berra scored a goal tonight for the Lake Erie Monsters on a conditioning assigmment.

Celebrated with the bench, and Colin Frasor got annoyed with him.

Dan Bylsma sighting at the Rob Blake jersey retirement in LA. I forgot that Bylsma even played for LA.

Yeah, the reason why scouts try for size and hope the skill comes along is because of how rare it is to find that combination...so you can take that reach and hope it pans out...Eric Lindros was really, really hard to stop...so that's why teams go back to that well so often...that really isn't mysterious or earth-shattering at all...teams want a rugged Rick Nash because that combination of size and skill is much harder to stop than Marek Svatos...

The smaller skilled players are more plentiful and you can wait on them if you need too...it's not that they aren't impressive - in some cases - it's just that there's much less Todd Bertuzzi types out there than Rocco Grimaldi's...

I'd say Tyler Johnson is a good example of size being overrrated.

Undersized players are also less likely to survive the pros. Getting 80 games out of a "bust" as a 3rd liner is better than getting a kid that plays 30 games before wear and tear render them useless.

Tyler Johnson and hundreds of others...the point still remains. There's quite a few Tyler Johnson types, meanwhile a loser like Akim Aliu goes in the 2nd round...these things happen...when you're little, you have to prove you can play the pros...when you're 6-foot-4, you have to prove that you can't...

Unlikely to change any time soon...

NHL Game center commercial came on and got me thinking:

Whatever happened to Tomas Hertl?

You mean after his one week of high scoring? He got hurt and then played like he was actually capable of.

Quick answer is: Joe Thornton.

Hertl is decent and all, but he's not anything real special. He should have a nice little career, but he got pretty overrated on the weight of a goal scored in an 8-1 game or whatever it was...
