1000 points for Patrick Elias on a secondary assist on an empty netter. 3 point night for him.

We may be near the point where it's good that the flyers pick up a few wins here and there. Don't want them to be too bad with this draft

Just finished watching the Rangers win their second tough game out west. Have to give them credit as they are playing quite well. Won something like 12 of their last 13 games.

Steve Mason leaves injured in today's game vs. the Bruins, Emery is Emery, and Flyers fans everywhere are looking for dat high pick.

Mason should be out for awhile. He shouldn't have started today, really.

Matt Cooke cross checks Weber in the face and only gets 7 PIMs???

Nice turtle job by Cookie right after when Weber was about dish out some broken face justice.

Interesting to see if the league hands out discipline to Cooke.

The Flyers are absolutely demolishing the Lightning right now. Wasn't expecting this, even if I think the Lightning are weaker than advertised.

What makes you think they are weaker than advertised? They are leading the conference and are in the much better division.

They just really remind me of the Caps of a couple years ago. Their offense is going to overwhelm folks during the regular season, but I worry about them in the playoffs when teams can plan to stop the Kucherov/Johnson/Palat line. Their defense is really weak once you look past Hedman, and I don't think Bishop is as good as his numbers show. Especially with the whistles being sort of put away in the playoffs, a Montreal or even a Boston would really hamper them, I think.

I could be wrong, for sure! I just don't see it as of now; I'm not sure if Stamkos can carry a Drouin & Paquette just yet on his line, and so on.

Two teams make me nervous right now. The Islanders and the Caps. The Islanders seem to give the Pens fits and the Capitals seem to have developed into a real team with a very good goalie. Their system is being followed and even OV seems to have bought into it.

The Islanders have had some trouble keeping the puck out of their net and have blown leads. The caps seem to be playing solid defensively and getting good goaltending. I'm not sure they have enough offensive depth to go far in the postseason. Who is their second line center?

Tampa is similar to the Islanders. They are giving up to many goals. I also don't think there is enough grit on that team.

Caps currently have more 10+ goal scorers than the pens, so I am not sure what that means for the pens depth then either. Agree about the isles

FYI on the Islanders, theyre a good team, much improved and I think they pass the eye test, but theyre record is well exceeding their performance stats:

9th in goals/game
20th in goals against/game
13th on 5 on 5 play
15th on the powerplay
26th on the pk

Nothing really sticks out at you too much, if you looked at those numbers alone without knowing who it was, you would say theyre a mediocre, borderline playoff team.

That's probably a better idea. I need my eardrums.
