Well, there have been links to COL and Tyler Myers, so that could be pretty real and makes sense but I think BUF would have to throw in their 1st.pcm wrote:ROR is the piece the Avs need to use to get a #2 dman. Petry isn't that. Probably Petry + Perron would be decent value, but the Avs and the Oilers both need all the help on D they can get.

Re: 2014-15 Non-Pens Transactions
Buffalo has to add a lottery pick to get a player that is a UFA after next season...? I doubt Buffalo would feel compelled to A) do that deal or B) add anything at all, much less a lottery pick...
The Avs already have two RD that are better than Myers anyhow...they obviously need to address the left side of their defense, where Myers can play, but why would they get his player of all players...? I mean, unless of course they're getting a shot at Connor McDavid out of it...![Laughing ](./images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)

Interesting that this is being discussed...I'm the last one to dismiss the Bruins. They dusted the floor with the Penguins 2 years ago in impressive fashion, but I think they're starting to show some cracks. They're not the big, bad Bruins anymore, or at least not as much as they once were. Age is starting to show a bit, injuries have hurt and they've made some bad personnel moves:
- Boychuk trade...obviously for cap reasons, but still, it's hurt them
- Seguin trade is really proving to be a bad one for them...everyone expected more from Loui Erickson. I always liked him as a player and wanted him for the Pens, but he's just not playing like he was in Dallas...not sure why...meanwhile Seguin is flourishing.
-Another interesting thing to look at is that they have Chara still under contract till age 40, another 3 seasons at almost 7 mil cap hit...yikes!
-I like David Krecji, he's a very good player, but is he worth 7.25 mil starting next season? I'm not so sure on that one either...especially for a team that has plenty of good players to resign and is up against the cap every year (like the Pens).
Anyways, not to be looking for things to nitpick, but I do like Chiarelli as a GM. He's made plenty of smart decisions to get them to 2 Finals appearances and 1 cup, but he has definitely made some mistakes and those mistakes are starting to show on the ice.

I'll say they give Steve Spott a chance at first in the interim and then maybe Pete DeBoer...
But Bylsma would be a decent fit there...they have skilled d-men back there and some one-way offensive players...it would be a decent match...

CAL & FLA made a trade - two prospects. Florida traded Drew Shore to the Flames for Corban Knight.

Re: 2014-15 Non-Pens Transactions
Huh? That's all they could get for Drew Shore? He looked like he has what it takes to be a #2 C in this league. Knight is a plugger pluggin away in the minors. FLA traded Corban Knight for a 4th round pick and then they re-acquire him... losing a prospect that would be playing on most NHL teams (much like Dumoulin) if not for FLA's depth at forward. Dave Tallon makes strange moves.Avyran wrote:CAL & FLA made a trade - two prospects. Florida traded Drew Shore to the Flames for Corban Knight.

The funny thing is that Knight was traded to Calgary because he refused to sign with Florida. At least that's what I read.

I didn't think they could do that unless it was an emergency recall.

I guess saying, "We really, really suck." is emergency enough.

Nylander had a special clause in his contract that allowed him to be recalled by 1/16/15.

He should rally just change his name to Marco Bello.
