Small-time character actors aren't particularly known for screen time and lengthy dialogue. There are a bunch of char actors that have limited screen time that when I see them in other things, I'm like "ooohh...he was in..."
It doesn't define him as an actor or a person, but its a role of note.
To clarify, I'm not saying that as a dig against Negron; I thought he was a pretty excellent stand up, if having a very particular delivery. It's more of a wtf to the media that they would use that kind of a role as the exemplar of his career.
One of the last of the Marlboro Men has died in Wyoming.
Darrell Hugh Winfield was 85. He died Monday at his home in Riverton, Davis Funeral Home said.
The Marlboro Man was a macho cowboy whose image in advertising from the 1950s to the late 1990s made filtered cigarettes more appealing to men. Previously Marlboros were marketed to women.
Winfield's rugged good looks made him the face of Marlboro cigarettes in magazine and television ads from the late 1960s to the late 1980s.
The Leo Burnett ad agency discovered Winfield in 1968 while he was working on the Quarter Circle 5 Ranch in western Wyoming.
Speaking of character actors, back when I had cable, there wasn't an evening that went by without me saying "Hey, that guy was in Band of Brothers!" And it was true! A lot of those actors showed up on network shows as the villain o' the week (or a henchman) or in a commercial. Then there are people like Simon Pegg and Tom Hardy who got much bigger than guest roles and the like. Quite a cast.
Friend at work passed away yesterday. He was 31. Leaves behind 4 and 1 year old sons and a wife. Sometimes I wonder why life sucks so bad. He had an infection in 3 heart valves, then kidney and liver failure after. Sucks.
Sucks. Was he in good shape? Or do you know if heart problems ran in his family? Not that I expect you to know those answers
But yeah, I'm always afraid of things like that. My family generally lives long loves but I'm afraid I'm gonna go to the doctor and hell randomly fine a tumor or some ****. Medical science cannot go any quicker...
Happened to a friend a few years ago. Early 30s, kid, wife. American dream kind of life, died in his sleep out of nowhere. Another friend of ours is traumatized by it, has a real problem falling asleep at night because he thinks of Brian every single night. It sucks.
Not an extremely well known person, but RIP fitness model/personal trainer/actor Greg Plitt. Former Army Ranger who was in countless commercials, appeared on more than 250 magazine covers, and was used as Dr. Manhattan's body in Watchmen. Hit and killed by a Metrolink train just north of the Burbank station.
