I'm surprised that that wouldn't be sold. It's a marvelous tool for fans ranging from the casual armchair GM to major insiders like Bob McKenzie and Elliott Friedman...all the best to Matthew, who was always very helpful, hope he gets well...

My guess is that it is more complicated than that.

I think I'm used to the new HNIC format, but I still rather have the old version back.

Re: Canaan's thread of NPR chaos.
Brad Marchand and Torey Krug had a dust up at Bruins practice:

Re: Canaan's thread of NPR chaos.
Marchand started the fight by making fun of Torey Krug's height:

Re: Canaan's thread of NPR chaos.
Linesman got hit in the ear with the puck and had to go back to the locker room.
Genuine question - why does the NHL not enforce players & refs wearing more safety-related equipment (ear pieces on helmet, visors, etc)? Is it tradition or something?

Re: Canaan's thread of NPR chaos.
Well, visor rules are in place. As for the ear pieces, I'm honestly not sure why they aren't worn more...I guess just style? They don't affect my hearing when I wear them...I actually had one come loose last game, so I currently have one in...so I'll have to fix that, but I have no problem with them...I also wouldn't feel weird without them, as the chance of an ear injury is pretty low...
Crosby, Malkin and Kane wear them because of gear contracts I believe...but no one else wears them unless someone still carries around an old Jofa bucket like Jagr in the mid-90's...
---------------
Unrelated: Semyon Varlamov is back and boy is he hot. 54 save whitewash in Chicago tonight. Holla at a playa when you see him in the street...

Melker Karlsson also wears them.
I take mine out because I feel like they trap too much heat.

Minnesota's having an interesting practice.
Michael Russo wrote:Yeo is going nuts in practice. Just slammed his stick in the middle of a scrum; screaming his head off. #mnwild
Yeo just stormed off the ice after slamming his stick against the glass
Koivu just left ice hurt. Smashed stick in half twice as he left. He's been dealing with a lower body injury & seemed to aggravate it.
Kuemper just left the ice sick or hurt it appears.
Assistant coach Rick Wilson having one on ones with veterans now like Matt Cooke and Thomas Vanek. Asst coaches running practice
