Re: Official 2014-2015 Pittsburgh Steelers Thread
Does anyone have experience using the NFL Rewind app to watch games after they happen? I don't have DVR and am going to a concert on Saturday night. My friend that I'm going with wants to watch the game immediately following the show, so as not to hear the score, but I'm not sure how long the delay is for that NFL Rewind (i.e. if you can watch it an hour or two after the game ends).

Re: Official 2014-2015 Pittsburgh Steelers Thread
My decision is influenced more by the fact that I am driving from NJ for a game that I held my tickets for, and the fact that I will be in town for because of tomorrow night's game as well.columbia wrote:Hockey is the superior sport, so I'll be watching the Pens (and occasionally checking in on the Steelers game).tifosi77 wrote:I'm honestly perplexed by the people having an existential crisis over which game to watch. An NFL playoff game featuring one of the best rivalries in North American pro sports, or a mid-season hockey game against a team from France Minor. There is no choice here, folks.
I will most likely give my tickets to my friend's daughter, and watch the Steelers game. What sucks most is that there are so few Saturday night games anymore as an out of state season tix holder. I hate missing one because of a conflict that was a twist of the Schedule - almost as much as I hate the fact that Bell could have used another day to heal his knee if they had played Sunday.

Torrey Smith preemptively complaining about Heinz Field this week.
Forecast is certainly interesting....heavy showers/rain with temperatures actually going up as the game progresses.

If neither teams are able to throw the ball, I think the Ravens have the advantage considering Bell's health, and our run defense is not as good as Baltimore's. Plus the Ravens may still be able to run their game plan of throwing the ball deep and hoping for PI.

Is this even newsworthy anymore? Heinz has been pretty much the worst field in the NFL since the place opened.shafnutz05 wrote:Torrey Smith preemptively complaining about Heinz Field this week.

The Steelers have officially ruled Bell out for tomorrow.

The Ravens run D is really good (especially with Ngata back) so I don't think not having Bell will be that big of a problem.
Bryant and Brown will absolutely tear up the Ravens secondary though.

Re: Official 2014-2015 Pittsburgh Steelers Thread
Normally I would agree, but it seems like the weather is going to be crap tomorrow. Lots of rain and wind, so throwing the ball might not be the easiest option. That's why it would be nice to have Bell to play some ball control if its going to be bad conditions.
I have no dog in the fight, so I just hope for a good game.

I'll be rooting for the Ravens because I don't want to have to play Bell/Brown

By not that big of a problem, you mean huge problem right? They need bell to gain yards on the ground and as a safety valve, dump off for Roethlisberger. Miller and Brown are basically going to be the only way they get first downs.

This is my plan. Hopefully at least one of them wins so I can go to bed happy.Eismann wrote:Probably easier to watch the Steelers game live, dvr the Pens game, since I doubt the announce team for Steelers will give Pens updates, but can almost guarantee Pens broadcast will do Steeler updates.

Taking the kid to the Pens game and will just not worry about trying to do media blackout on the Steelers or even dvr it. We'll likely be home by halftime anyway and i'll deal with it.

But will spoilers on the Pens game show up the Steeler's GDT and vice versa?dodint wrote:This is my plan. Yeah this is humongous bad. If we lose tomorrow, the game last week will be the worst win I can remember considering bell got hurt, we won our way into playing the team that beat us and we get the added bonus of a guaranteed loss against New England next year.Troy Loney wrote:MalkinIsMyHomeboy wrote:The Ravens run D is really good (especially with Ngata back) so I don't think not having Bell will be that big of a problem.

Re: Official 2014-2015 Pittsburgh Steelers Thread
Bell had 20 yards last game against the Ravens on the ground and 5 catches against them. He wasn't what killed Baltimore last time. Losing him sucks but they were going to have to beat the Ravens by BRoeth strafing the wreckage that is the Baltimore secondary.Troy Loney wrote:MalkinIsMyHomeboy wrote:The Ravens run D is really good (especially with Ngata back) so I don't think not having Bell will be that big of a problem.

Line hasn't moved all week despite Bell being out. I'm inclined to bet on the Ravens just to hedge my bets/guarantee a Steelers victory.meow wrote:Vegas as Steelers at -3

Re: Official 2014-2015 Pittsburgh Steelers Thread
After the 3 week span where the Steelers lost to Tampa, barely escaped Jacksonville and then got humiliated by Cleveland, if you told me they would host a Wild Card game, that might have been enough for me. But they're playing the Ravens. Losing to them would be a real kick in the jimmies. I'm not expecting any miracle runs beyond this game, but they need to send Flacco and Thuggs packing.
