most places will probably sell it by the bottle, like world wide stout (another 18%'er). the place i'm going to, which is pretty fair with this sort of thing, is charging $8.99 a bottle. that seems about right considering the ABV and the rarity.

That is not something I would want a bomber of.

Wow. I scrolled down a bit. They have Cascade stuff. Best sours in the country, bar none.

was able to get a 4 pack after much discussion with the beer monger there on whether or not they had any in stock. i'll probably sit on it for a while. it probably needs a few months on it to take some of the heat away.

Has Bell's always put out a Christmas beer? I've never seen this, but it looks like something different from the holiday spiced beers

The reactions on RateBeer, which I generally hold in much higher regard than BA, have been very disappointing to say the least. I did see this at the store the other day.

I usually look at it like Ratebeer is high while BA seems to be lower.

Yeah, ratebeer seems to have higher ratings. I seem to be more aligned with BA.

Ratebeer is like that friend, who tells you that every record he buys is great.

Ratebeer is annoying in terms of the value of the actual numeric rating. Stuff is either 96+ or 75-

That said, I find the actual reviews to be more useful on ratebeer, and it is linked up with Beerbuddy, which is the best beer app, so, I do use it.

i joined the beeradvocate forums to exchange some BCBS intel...man those nerds are crazy. everyone is so hostile and so obsessed with price. like...BCBS is a 14% beer that is world class and extremely rare. don't freaking complain when you see it at $8 a bottle.

Yeah, it is pretty easy for me to see how the flood of average level craft has hurt some of the breweries that make world class stuff. For those that just want the craft badge to say they have it, there are so many cheaper options now; I've seen a lot of people pass over world class offerings over a few dollars.

Agreed. Can't really go by the numbers, but the reviews are usually worthwhile.

I've had Winter Cheers. Pretty good, and a little different than your typical winter beer

all the reviews I've read make it sound like a light saison. I think I'm going to go with this.

Winter Cheers is good. It reminded me somewhat of Penn Weizen in smell and taste. So if you like that, you'll like this.

I'd definitely say it's closer to a weizen (it does say "wheat ale" on the bottle), but there is a little hop bitterness behind it that's noticeable but not overpowering.

You can definitely taste the wheat-style flavors though.
