Pretty clear cut boarding call. As with anything, if this is the new standard, the go for it. However, I'm pretty certain you see this hit on any given night go unpunished. They should be, so hopefully this is progress (stop laughing).

I guess you could say this time the Stoner was the one who got...

What about the blatant headshots that Stoner delivered to Kane who was already engaged with another player.

Honestly, only two game, that was WAY worse than Bortuzzo's hit on Jagr. The puck was even further away than it was from Jagr.

Stoner isn't a future Hall of Famer.

Kane is a semi-marquee player. Bortuzzo is a 7th D-man at the NHL level (well not on every team, but you get what I mean).

Hence, these two areas factor into the reduced punishment.

Keep in mind, Scandella had been fined for a headshot like two weeks ago, so I think he was on a pretty short leash.

I hate that they take the "no injury" into consideration. However, I'm fine with 2 games.

seems about right. If it were the other way around, it'd be 5 games, but that's the NHL.

Marchand has a hearing for his slew foot on Brassard. No penalty called on the play. Discipline the refs for missing that obvious call.

Nasty slew foot. 95% of those, you look at and think, "hockey people say that's dangerous, but it just looked like a guy falling down"...but this one looked awful.

yeah, def looked bad and Brassard was very fortunate to not get hurt.

I don't know if I'm happy or sad the youtube of the incident cuts out right before Jack Edwards weighs in on the call.
