I have a white fish stick Palffy authentic, I don't care what anyone says I liked those.dodint wrote:With the Islanders home and home coming up this weekend going to fall asleep watching Big Shot. Milbury getting duped is always good for sweet dreams.
Also, fish stick jerseys. I had one when I was a kid. Got it at Gabriel Bros in Greensburg.

Pretty sure mine was NNOB and no number. Used to wear it to practice from time to time.
I wore my Nedved authentic to practice one day and I swear it was my greatest practice ever. The clothes make the man.

Hmph. I know my initial reaction would have been to grab the net with my blockerhand and tear that thing down. No way play is going to continue while I lay there like a bum for 2 seconds.

Gordie Howe suffers a major stroke event, back in the ICU. Have a bad feeling he isn't long for this world.

Yeah, he hasn't been doing well for some time now, unfortunately. I was talking with a friend who is close with his son, Mark, and he was not optimistic unfortunately...

I could almost buy into it for humor value if they both wore 23.

From where I sit on my layman couch, when your stick breaks on the PK, you'd have a hard time convincing me that it's better to have a 60 second 5 on 3.5 than a 6 second 5 on 3.
Just go get a new stick from the bench already.

Re: Canaan's thread of NPR chaos.
At the very least, the player without his stick can still block passing/shooting lanes and make hand passes within the zone without a stick, whereas skating to the bench (which could be further away if it's during the 2nd period) takes away that ability. And 6 seconds is relatively long on a PP. A lot can happen within 6 seconds.

Re: Canaan's thread of NPR chaos.
If you know it's going to be a 60-second 5 on 3.5 then yeah, the six seconds is better. But if played properly, you can still fend off the key passing lanes that would lead to a near tap-in goal. The whole dynamic changes for both sides when that "fourth" player leaves the zone. Not only does a ton of ice and multiple passing and shooting lanes open and others are prone to opening up, but also the PK is out there as if it's a 4-man kill, to adjust to a 3-man kill that quickly and be in good shape and switch back can be tough if you're playing against a good team.
But there's so many factors involved, that it's tough to make a blanket statement on anything in the game like this.
For me, I would not instruct a player to leave the zone until an opportunity presents itself. It doesn't necessarily have to be a full-on clear, but if an opportunity is there or close to being there, I'll have a stick ready and reaching from the bench and a player sitting on the boards with a leg over in case we need to make a change. As sometimes, you can stretch that bench buffer a little full-well knowing the puck isn't coming out to the neutral zone...
But again, everything requires specific analysis to get a firm answer...

Watched this gif and thought: hmmm, cool goal. hitting that out of the air, nice hand-eye. Then I found out why the gif was made. The goal scorer here was called for goaltender interference, goal disallowed and received a penalty.
