Regarding the name, Probably the same reason wigle can't call their rum, rum. Something about getting federal permit and approval to use the name rum. Either that or maybe someone else has the name rumking?stopper40 wrote:Stopped at Brews Brothers on the way home from work and asked about Rumking and BCS.
1. He's supposed to get Rumking in but he doesn't know how much. If he only get's a case or 2 he may just raffle them off at a Pumking party. Also said the reason it's not out yet is that there are some kind of issues with the name
2. That's exactly what he did with BCS last year and he may end up doing the same thing this year.
Nothing is set in stone as he has to see how much he gets in of either one

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
I stopped off at the gas station and saw a sixer of Boulevard Unfiltered Wheat. Neither of the people running the place could find a price, so I just said, "How about $8.99? That seems like a fair deal for both of us." The dude smiled and rang it up, as requested.

Interesting. I went to attended a wine/beer/liquor law class recently. Sounds like there are tons of trademark issues as a result of the craft beer boom. Only so many creative names related to beer styles/ingredients, I guess.

If there's not already, you should create a craft beer name generator. Should be pretty easy. Little from Column A, little from Column B, little from Column C...et, voila!Kraftster wrote:Interesting. Anyone see Dogfish Beer Thousand in the Pittsburgh area? Their website says nobody has it within 100 miles and that it's draft only, but I thought I'd ask you fine folks before I write it off. Any sightings?

I had the Affligem and really liked it. It's very reddish-brown with tons of yeast sediment. As long as you don't baff the pour, like I did the first time, it should be a good try for you.eddysnake wrote:Saw an affligem dubbel and an uinta crooked Line: Labyrinth Barrel Aged Quadruple Black Ale, anyone try those before?

Both are terrific. I give the St. Bernardus a tiny edge ahead, but both are so good.Sigwolf wrote:You've now enjoyed two of my very favorite holiday beers.llipgh2 wrote:Opened the St. Bernardus Christmas Ale.

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
Had Widmer Brrr and Great Lakes Christmas Ale both last night. They are both much better than what I remember them being last year. The GL was on nitro. Not sure how different it'd be carbed, but it was really good on nitro. I don't mind trying a seasonal beer on different years for this reason. A lot of times they change just a bit (as does your taste) and it could be a completely different beer the next year.

Went to Sidecar Bar and Grill in philly last night. Great beer selection. Started with Warlock. My lord. As much as I hate Pumking, this is incredibly smooth and balanced. Delicious.

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
My sister lives near Burlington, and just sent me a message that she's heading to the beer store on Tuesday as that's delivery day. She said she can call Monday and reserve beers to pick up on Tuesday. She's then coming down Wednesday for Thanksgiving, and wants to know if I want her to get anything for me. Other than Heady Topper anyone have any New England/Vermont beers that I should see if she can get?
