The only thing Chicago has going for it in that regard is they:

1) Have Rapid Pay (or whatever) where you don't slow down at all
2) They make the cash paying folks go to a completely seperate service plaza
3) Pay online up to 7 days later if you don't want to stop but don't have EZPass

It's probably so nice because there is about 6 tolls between Chicago and the WI border.

PA has the rapid lanes at the toll barriers that are actually along the highway (state lines and Warrendale) but not at the exits.

Cool. I want to get an EZPass but I think you have to have an in-state license. NC and WI both accept EZPass on the few places that have tolls but I don't think they issue them.

I think I can get an I-Pass but I don't know if it works in PA.

As he posts to LGP.com...
Yeah, but as soon as I made my post I closed LGP and went back to work. I didn't keep browsing. I only do that at lunch.

She has been on Dave Ramsey's website for the past hour today.

I'd like to know the psychology about people and multiple entrance/exit doors. For example, at work there are four doors to enter a lobby and people just seem to gravitate to one of the doors and a line queues up while three doors are unused. This happened in high school too where a double door led to the stairways and people would just try and go through one of the doors leading to a line spilling into the hallway. I would always go and use the other door. Is it that people are expecting people to come through the doors in the other direction?

I leave LGP up in a tab all day and switch back to it when I don't have anything pressing going on.

I've also observed this behavior in many different situations. Most people are conformists and will follow what those in front of them are doing. It happens at the EZ pass lanes on the turnpike too, so it's not limited to walking. I do the same thing you do as well.

I think part of it is how we're taught to drive also. We drive on the right side of the road so, I would think, that people would tend to stay on the right out of habit. Also, most people are right handed, which would probably cause people to gravitate to the right.

The toll plaza entering Jersey from Pennsylvania. It is the worst-designed toll plaza I've ever seen. Having an EZ-Pass is all about convenience, right? So they put the EZ-Pass lanes WAY off to the right side of the toll plaza, way out of alignment with the highway. Meanwhile, the cash lanes are placed conveniently to the left. So what happens? Not only are EZ-Pass users forced to swerve way off to the right to use it, but the people in the cash lines clog it back up the main road instead of just being queued off to the side. DUMB.

Hold the phone...

Gotta be the Turnpike Bridge since none of the DRPA bridges charge getting into Jersey, only to get out of Jersey.

True. I've only taken the Turnpike bridge into Jersey once though and can't remember the setup.
