You actually remember your number. I'm impressed is ICQ even still around?

Re: Your irrational pet peeves
Not sure why that number has always stuck in my head, but there it is. I tried to reclaim it years later but it's been reissued. ICQ is still there, was last sold in 2010 by AOL for almost $170million.
Actually, that must've been a really formative time in my life. I can remember my first website: http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/Downs/7770" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Switched to Angelfire to make a Petr Nedved site after that.
Also, Webcrawler was my first steady search site, before Google.
iMemory Lane, today.

I think it depends on what you do. I have 6 programs open right now and 3 tabs open on my browser.
Just seems so unnecessary, I want to ask why he doesn't close them.

*Netscape was a web browser from back before you were born

Steve Case was on MSNBC a week or so ago. I was howling thinking of the old EFNet #prankradio calls to AOL customer service where phewl called up and demanded to speak to Steve Case.columbia wrote:AOL is thinking about buying Yahoo.

webcrawler was as good as it got back then. i had an angelfire site in 1997, but switched over to tripod the next year for some reason. i remember the day where i figured out how to put a picture on the internet. my mind was blown.dodint wrote:Not sure why that number has always stuck in my head, but there it is. Hate it when at work I get an IM that says good morning and then nothing else. I refuse to initiate or take part in an IM conversation that way. Ask your question.

somehow AOL.com still is 147th in page views. I legitimately don't know anyone that still uses that site.

Email. I see tons of AOL accounts in my job as a recruiter. I would guess they had an AOL account, and may not use it anymore but wanted to keep their email address.MalkinIsMyHomeboy wrote:somehow AOL.com still is 147th in page views. I legitimately don't know anyone that still uses that site.

Well done, indeed. Needs some Ryan Braun, though, unless I missed it elsewhere.dodint wrote:Solid data mining there.JS© wrote:Punchable faces has some history on LGP.
By the looks of it, it has been attributed to the following people:

Rick Nash - MIMH
Chris Osgood - Slappy
Jonathan Papelbon - TheGhostOfGoulet
Brad Marchand - Steve, DontToewsMeBro
John Jay - canaan
Chris Hayes - dodint, who later nominated him a 2nd time after seeing a pic of him on google
"those PS4 guys" - Spangler
Steve Ott - sil/Lt. Dish in a team effort
Claude Giroux (officially described as "this turd", but mentioned during a punchable faces discussion)
Alec Baldwin - idoit40fans
David Luiz - Rocco
Dan Bylsma - SoupOrSam
Jeremy Roenick - Steve
Matt Holliday - TheGhostOfGoulet
Milan Michalek - Juice, Malkamaniac
Andrew Fillaponi - JS©
Phillip Rivers - Beveridge, thewicked child (separate posts)
Govs. Tom Corbett and Tom Wolf - pghskins
Brandon Dubinsky - MRandall25, MIMH
and last but not least, Todd Chrisley of Chrisley Knows Best - apparently me
Although that's a solid list, why do I feel there are people missing?

I'm gonna be chuckling for the rest of the day. Thanks, man.

Re: Your irrational pet peeves
AOL still functions as a portal website, with it's basic e-mail services. No doubt name recognition alone leads the unwary to it's clutches.
AOL was so much fun in the mid-90s. If it wasn't for AOL's buggy and horrible API, I never would have become a developer. The AOL hacking scene started in Pittsburgh, the entire social engineering method known as "phishing," was started on AOL. Look up AOHell. Dude supposedly lived in Shaler.

"Grip" hockey sticks. Irrational because I've never used one. I've felt them in the store and want to break them instantly.
