It went from fun and something to kill time to a money making enterprise really fast. Now it's oversaturated and you see it everywhere and people are just obnoxious with it. Particularly the girls that consider themselves "chivettes" and think that because they aren't exposing nipple that they're classy... I still look at sometimes but it's lost the fun factor.

Keyser is massive compared to Ridgeley which is in that area. Having grown up in the area though, I think I went to Keyser a grand total of 15 times.

My wife actually got me into The Chive. I don't like the uber bro aspect of it, but I visit the site pretty much daily. I don't really like the babe galleries (because the internet is a truly wondrous place, and there are 'options'), but the silly/goofy stuff is fun. Mrs Tif has a Cat Saturday shirt and I have a DAR shirt. That's about the extent of my KCCOing.

How about not following the proper etiquette in email exchanges regarding working towards use of first names. In my mind, the script plays out over 4 emails. I just had it followed perfectly, and I can't tell you how refreshing that is. The two actors in this hypothetical are Jonathan Smith and Robert Jones. Smith has to contact Jones, who he has never met or spoken to before. Here is how it should go:

Mr. Jones,

My name is Jonathan Smith and I .....blah. The purpose of this email is .........blah.

Regards,

Jonathan Smith

People who send e-mails with the 'high importance' icon. We have one person who always sends e-mails with this option.

High importance is something that needs done right away. Or it's a company policy change. Or it could be of a personal matter, such as payroll, compensation, benefits, etc.

You sending notes about a webinar that you sat through is not of high importance.

Literally every email I've received from Career Services at St. Francis (where I'm getting my master's degree) is marked as High Importance or Urgent. Literally every. single. email.

None of it matters to me, because all of them are related to things that are happening on their campus, while I am taking the classes online.

I hate that as well. There is one or two people that constantly do that at my work.

The only time I ever send one with that is high importance is if it truly is. ie. urgent deadline, significant change, request for Controller or CFO.
