It's solid. A relatively hoppy saison option.

Decent. Style is still too thin for my taste.

Had the Warlock last night for the first time. I was hoping for a fuller body and mouthfeel. I think it would be close if I did a side-by-side of (this year's) Pumking and Warlock as to which I would prefer. I really don't love either this year, though.

I picked up a Kasteel Rouge.

BA says:
Kasteel Rouge is a blend of Kasteel Donker and cherry liquor. The mix of these two excellent products creates an exceptional soft beer with references to the dark mother beer.
That might or might not have been a good decision.

Drank La Fin Du Monde... Pretty nonplussed. It tasted like a very wheat like beer with a lot of citrus type notes with a heavy clove like after taste. Tasty but IMO not as good as rated. Tell me why I'm wrong beer snobs.

It's highly regarded by some, for sure. Personally, I'm not a huge fan. It's just too much "fruit beer" taste--the cherry dominates a but too much. Worth trying, though. Certainly expertly made.

Accurate enough description, I suppose, so tripels may just not be for you. My only strong point of contention with your review is your statement that it's a lot like a wheat beer. It's really not, at least no more than many Belgian styles share some of the fruity ester profile with a wheat. The alcohol presence, Belgian yeast spiciness and bit of funkiness aren't characteristics shared with your typical wheat beer.

I don't think anyone in this thread is going to get too worked up over you thinking fin du monde is "good" rather than "great."

Excellent stuff, but not if you are expecting a beer. It makes a great dessert drink. Great cherry flavor, but not too sweet. Not something to drink a sixer, but makes a nice finish to a night.

I thought it was pretty revered around here. Or maybe it's implied that there are better options, but this is great at its price point and availability.

I don't really like golden triples, but this one's passable - especially compared to golden monkey. But id go with some actual Belgian brewers if I had to drink this style.

Yeah, I can't stand LFDM and found it utterly undrinkable......because I just don't like the style in general. That really is no indictment of it at all

Yeah, I'm going to sip on it after dinner and during the hockey game.

Surprisingly, arrogant bastard was my least favorite of the 4. I had only had it a few times before this. The IPA and Ruination are really good.

I actually haven't had Arrogant Bastard for a few years so I almost forget what it tastes like. Love me so Ruination though, so stoked for that at the very least.

I like the ipa more than the ruination. Alesmith Decadence is wonderful.

Oooo I look forward to hearing your thoughts on the dark penance.

Up at camp, just built a fire in the wood burner, listening to my old man records, drinking some fine Oat sodas. Life is good
