Someone bought me a bottle of La Fin Du Monde... I'm almost scared to drink it. I can't tell if I'm supposed to strain it or what.

If you're afraid of flavor, then I'm sure more than a few people here would be willing to take it off your hands.

Its almost everyone i drink. Coors, Sam Adams, but also microbrews.... I had an "ichabod crandall" the other day and felt like my head was going to explode.BigMcK wrote:Specifically, what beer are you drinking that gives you the headache? Search Poison in beer.
Sorry to hear, because a fresh brew from a minimalist brewer can not be beat.

lol I'm just messing. Budwesier used to give me headaches for whatever reason but that's it, and I drink heavier stuff than that.

Is it a specific beer or anything?

Blue Moon is the only beer that I have adverse reactions to. I get headaches, upset stomach, diarrhea the next morning. Just awful reactions to it. Probably the reason why I stay away from wits and wheats.

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
Actually i thought it was all alcohol until i drank an angry orchard last month. I waited for the headache and didn't get one, so i drank another and waited figuring it was sure to come. Never did. So i drank another couple and no headache. The next day I went and grabbed a 12 pack of cans of the stuff and tried again and no headache. I am hoping there is other stuff i can find with the same results.... like real beer instead of cider.ulf wrote:Is it a specific beer or anything?

lol, I have a cousin that will drink to inebriation and beyond, and then blame the beer the next morning for giving him a "sinus headache". Not the fact he drank 15 beers, but the hops or something.

Don't be afraid of a sediment filled pour. In fact, Unibroue encourages it.Pavel Bure wrote:Someone bought me a bottle of La Fin Du Monde... I'm almost scared to drink it. I can't tell if I'm supposed to strain it or what.

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
Okay this is what I mean. It has stuff resting on the bottom I'm guessing? Do I drink that? I dunno man, I don't want to waste any of it but I'm confused about there possibly being something in the bottom.Kraftster wrote:Don't be afraid of a sediment filled pour. It's just yeast. And you won't even notice it. It doesn't feel gritty or chunky in your mouth or anything. It just dissolves

Yeah, it might affect the flavor a bit, but you won't notice it drinking it. And like I said, Unibroue encourages you to disturb the sediment.

Slight edge to Bells IMO even before price difference factored in.

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
problem somewhat solved. split a case of expedition and Founders Breakfast with my brother. Now to scout out the mix n match 6 pack section again to see if I can pick up more sixers of Founders Imperial Stouts for $12. I always feel guilty about doing that, but if they have them in there, they are asking for it.

This was quite good. Wasn't sure what to expect from a Weizenbock, but pleasantly surprised. A little lighter than a bourbon Barrell stout, but some great flavors.
