Re: Is Eric Staal on the trading block?
If they want the best shot at getting Conner McDavid they should trade him. Not that they are not the front runners already. I think he has a no trade clause and that's kinda cold, "hey Bro come play with me in Carolina... oh wait I think I want traded now."
For the E. Staal and J. Staal to Toronto from a cap perspective. it is almost impossible. A combined 14.25 million going to a team with under a 1m in cap space left, Toronto has all their top money makers having no trade clauses. Eric alone would almost be hard to imagine going the other way with his 8.25 cap hit even at the deadline.

This article is related to the topic at hand. I don't necessarily agree with everything posted about him being on the decline as much as it's the lack of supporting cast over the last several years.

Man what a parallel to Lecavalier's career. Very similar unless I'm losing my mind mind. A very good player, showed flashes of elite talent, but could never sustain the extreme high level of play. Still very good players but I don't think it's the supporting cast holding him down. Great players aren't held down by that as we've seen with Hilbert, Armstrong, Talbot, and Fedotenko.Pruezy11881 wrote:http://www.tsn.ca/yost-signs-of-decline ... e-1.112145

Lecavalier played with Fedotenko, and assisted Feds on the 2004 SCF GWG

He also won the Richard one year. Like I said there were spurts of elite play but nothing consistent. Very good player, very good. I wouldn't say elite though.MRandall25 wrote:Lecavalier played with Fedotenko, and assisted Feds on the 2004 SCF GWG

I thought I worded that poorly. I meant when Crosby and Malkin played with those guys Crosby and Malkin were still dominant.Pitts wrote:Those are all "great" players?Pavel Bure wrote: Great players aren't held down by that as we've seen with Hilbert, Armstrong, Talbot, and Fedotenko.
