Jan Hooks was actually one of my favorite from that era. She was on in the era of Dana Carvey, Phil Hartman, Mike Meyers, and Kevin Nealon and was not overmatched.

She was also awesome as Jenna's mom on '30 Rock'.

Agreed. The cast from the late 80's to early 90's rivals the original cast for greatness IMO.

Gosh. Such a powerful player and an amazing musician. I'm no musician myself, but it was a revelatory moment to hear -- really hear -- "Crossroads" by Cream. What was so revelatory was that -- despite the sublime vocals and playing by Eric Clapton -- what really made that recording IMO was Jack Bruce's bass.
Spoiler:

I wish everyone could hear his bass isolated. Amazing. No other word suffices.
Spoiler:
Another great bassist who gets little credit is Geezer Butler of Black Sabbath. Similar stuff. Great bass riffs that make the tunes in addition to the work of -- let's be honest -- the greatest lead guitarist of all time, Tony Iommi.

RIP Marcia Strassman

Most well known for playing Julie Kotter in Welcome Back Kotter, and to younger (under 40) audiences for playing Diane Szalinski in the Honey I Shrunk the Kids movies
