I just makes more sense to brush your teeth before you shower.

Re: Your irrational pet peeves
Well, yeah. The shower is the end of the cleaning ritual as any remants are washed away. I just wonder how you're watching someone else closely enough to know their routine so intimately.
On a similar note, shave before or after a shower? I wash my face and shave before the shower so as to get all the cream and residue off. I know lots of folks think the face is only properly ready for a shave after some steamy shower action which supposedly lifts the hair off the face.

Re: Your irrational pet peeves
Not extremely related: I find brushing your teeth with hot water to be yucky...
EDIT: I shave after a shower.

Me too, but I figure hotter water does better at removing grime like any other cleaning so I grin and bear it.mikey287 wrote:Not extremely related: I find brushing your teeth with hot water to be yucky...

You should shave after a shower. Hot water softens the beard and opens the pores. Use cold water with your razor though.mikey287 wrote:Not extremely related: I find brushing your teeth with hot water to be yucky...

Re: Your irrational pet peeves
Lee Childs third Jack Reacher Book, "Trip Wire":
"Reacher was in the shower. He had three distinct routines worked out for showering, and every morning he made a choice about which one to use. The first was a straight shower, nothing more. It took eleven minutes. The second was a shave and a shower, twenty-two minutes. The third was a special procedure, rarely used. It involved showering once, then getting out and shaving, and then showering all over again. It took more than a half-hour, but the advantage was moisturization. Some girl had explained the shave was better if the skin was already thoroughly moisturized. And she had said it can't hurt any to shampoo twice."

With no fan in the bathroom is my ancient house, shaving after showering is not an option for me but that's what I used to do.

Re: Your irrational pet peeves
I brush my teeth after I shower in the evening. I also brush in the morning so technically that's before.

I only learned the cold water issue from watching Miller's Crossing. What's the reason for that?Pavel Bure wrote:You should shave after a shower. Hot water softens the beard and opens the pores. My wife was the trigger, but then whenever you see people with the dried toothpaste in the corners of their mouths...you know they brushed after a shower or didn't shower.dodint wrote:Well, yeah. Saw a few of those at a trade show this weekend.
And, I have a mirror in the shower and shave in the shower.
